Library of Shit Archived/Retired Festivus Volatus Festivus Volatus Start Date and Time: 8-4-20 at 12 AM MT A rumor has been spreading among those who love to travel the the Great city of Astu Aether . What is this rumor? Well, I will tell you. Sheesh. Be patient. It appears that a large creature has been living at the top of the tree that teleports people to and from the sky city, which has disrupted the flow of magic. Without a way to transport between Simul's main land and the city, a lot of people have been stuck on either side. With posters being handed out throughout the city itself and Simul below, people have begun to gather, trying to get the great beast to come down. It wasn't until a street vendor was cooking some delectable whatever the fuck that the creature made a move. Citizens were quite surprised to see that it was a very large griffin! White feathers and a pristine beak, but rather lacking in muscle as it obviously hadn't eaten in quite some time. The vendor did what he could to coax the beast out, only to be denied such. Apparently, the damned thing is picky. But now, the people know what they have to do... The Event Your character(s) need to find out what it is this beast likes to eat and try and get it out of the freaking tree. Food seems to be the way to go, but trying to figure out what it likes is going to be the hard part. - The Ros | Kingdom of Simul
The mysterious springs of The Ros. Many seek it out...and many are disappointed. (High Fantasy Texted Based Roleplay. Join us on Discord today!) The Ros The mysterious springs of The Ros. Many seek it out...and many are disappointed. "Curative waters." or "Strange Pools." they have been called. It is a game of chance when dipping into the warm water that makes up the many springs. There are a total of seven. No one quite knows which does what. It has been said and shown that one day, the waters of one who had healed someone of an ailment would then mentally torture the next. Or perhaps a pool that scared away the fish swimming inside could then stitch wounds mere minutes later. It all depends on the luck of the roll....quite literally. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Should your character seek out these waters, they must choose one spring at a time. Each time the waters are tested (Which must be with a part of their body), you must roll 1d20. 1-5 Negative Effect Should you roll for negative, your character will suffer the condition known throughout Simul as "Untrust". Your character will become overly paranoid at everything. They may not even try and use another pool of water to cure their original issue. They will not trust even their lover(s). This may cause them to run from anything and anyone at any given time. Stress can cause hair loss and a shrill voice at all times. This will last two weeks IC. These effects affect the entire body, whether or not you completely submerged. 6-14 Normal Waters These will do nothing other than relax you in the radiating heat. 15-20 Complete Cure Any minor issue your character ails from will be cured. Scars, disease, sanity loss, sleep deprivation, minor curses and hexes, flesh wounds, etc. More severe ailments such as cancers, disfigurement, limb loss, bone breaks etc will not be fixed. The waters can only be used once per day. Meaning, if you touch one spring, whether or not it is your whole body, you will gain nothing from any of the others until the next day. By that time...your character may be dead already. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Don't let the pools frighten you! The Ros is also one of the most beautiful natural landscapes Simul has to offer. Despite the rumors and even evidence, this has not stopped the most seasoned of travelers from making the hike and resting among the cabins. Updates

Library of Shit Category BREAKING NEWS (December 6, 2023) BREAKING NEWS (December 6, 2023) BREAKING NEWS Yet another massive upset of the people has come in the form of something...unseen. With the disappearance of local wildlife on the Northern Coast, citizens of Simul have taken notice. Whispers of a mad man "melting flesh" from "carcasses and live animals" have been spreading like wildfire across the northern parts of our great kingdom. Some have made it their duty to find whoever this person/s are/is, but the only facts we have learned is that the person keeps to an area not easily reached on the cliffside near the ocean. Witnesses state that there was more than one person during the time of the incident. It appeared that only one was the aggressor. Flames have eaten away the cliff face and the landscape has slid into the ocean. There is no news on survivors or who the people were in the area. Will update when more is known. Please be safe, folks. This is Flynn, signing off. Send Send Send Send No Updates Yet Most Recent Update None yet Views Back to Top

- Eleutheria | Kingdom of Simul
Eleutheria Welcome to Simul's capitol: Eleutheria. This beautiful city is located on an island in the middle of Lake Chester. Lake Chester is a much larger lake than Lake Torra located in the south. Atop the island is the King and Queen's residence that has an open door policy during the day, as it is heavily guarded. Travel on foot throughout is made possible through the many golden walls or towers found on the inner or outer walls. All are welcome within its walls. The King and Queen encourage all throughout the land to not only visit, but to reside in their castle city. The place is big enough to house a large city. The people are more than friendly, and thus, there is rarely any notable crime. This is also due to the highly trained mages patrolling the area on a constant basis. It is said that the atmosphere is lovely enough to soothe even the darkest of hearts. The first level is home to most of the occupants. The second has more upscale homes and shops. The third level is the royal home. Year Incorporated: 122 Population: Approximately 20,000 Human: 63% Elven: 17% Dwarven: 5% Other: 15% Magically inclined: Approximately 11% Updates Black Garden Asylum In the deepest parts of Eleutheria, there is rumored to be a prison, run by the worst warden anyone has ever heard of. They don't even know her name...Well...not so much as rumor. More of one of those stories you tell your children at night. "Don't be bad unless you want to end up in Black Garden Asylum. Where all the bad people have to stay forever." Little do most know, this is actually the case. Within the castle city, where only few know, there lies a massive prison. One that only a RARE select few have ever been released from. Inside of this horrid place, hidden far from the citizens, is a maze of stone walls and cages separated only by the mass amount of arch mages who live and work there. Their job? To siphon all energies from the inmates. Magical, mental, life force. Anything they have to, every second of every day, in order to weaken all who are contained. Every cell is divided by nearly a half mile of concrete and steel. The rest of the rooms? Those are for the workers. Never a split second goes by that someone is left alone. This does not happen, as the inmates are inmates for a reason. Not only is it impossible to get in, but impossible to get out. Smoldering Sword Those looking for high quality weapons and armor that find themselves in The Smoldering Sword have found just what they are looking for. Each weapon is made to order, though there is a shop of pre-mades as the front entrance. The smith, Charles, has no ability to make enchanted weapons. If you buy, you are buying good, old fashions steel. The Dancing Mug A place welcoming to all travelers who seek shelter and company after great adventures! Come here to reunite with great dealers, claim rewards, gamble your life away, drink up your problems! Doesn't matter who you are or what you are or where you are from. As long as you don't destroy the place, for the owner, Farrah, will mess your day up! The Magistera The Magistera is one of the world's-or at least, so the academy's headmistress, Mrs G, will claim-greatest and most prestigious places of arcane knowledge. It is here that aspiring young mages, and more elderly ones just looking to brush up on their skills and learn a few new things, as wisdom is not exclusive to the youth, come from all across the continent to learn, practice, and unlock the full potential of the magical arts. The academy is known for having a deeply expansive library filled to the brim with books on arcane subjects ranging from the very basics to knowledge of exotic magical dealings you've never heard of originating from far-off lands. Of course, the academy offers not just educational services but is the place to go if you have to deal with some unfortunate magical trouble or need expert advice. Curses, magical diseases, just need some advice? The academy can help! The headmistress, Mrs G, may look like a young woman, but her intelligence is beyond her outward appearance. Chester Port The only way to go from Wingston to Eleutheria without teleporting or flying or swimming would be through Port Chester. Just on the outside of Elutheria's main entrance, one can catch a boat, big or small to and from. Most of the time, the big boats are run by Ryan. The smaller boats are for rent, as long as you return them unscathed! Vombri Healingfist Vrombi may not look like it, but the dwarven man is the best healer in all of Eleutheria. His schedule is often booked with the mundane. Cuts and bumps and bruises. When he is not tending to the local drunkards and their scuffles, Vrombi can be found wandering around the royal part of the castle tending to the King's Guard. He is also very versed with women giving birth. A very rare sight to see: A male midwife. Pages of Time The largest library and book store in all of Simul sits deep inside of Eleutheria. With acres of papers, Pages of Time has rooms that haven't been touched in decades. You will often find yourself among others camping out inside of the building, hoping to find that rare piece of literary mastery. You may want to bring your own camping gear. A lonely librarian by the name of Elijah Gadiel runs this massive collection and is one of the most friendly day walking vampires you could meet! Marge's Tavern More information HERE Grub Grabs From dragon to cow, Jean and Sean have your meats! Cut to order, and even kept chilled until the time is right to slice, Grub Grabs is the freshest in the land. Each piece of meat is cut with tender care and wrapped with enchanted paper to keep it as fresh as long as possible. Some can even travel between cities before needing to cook it. Betty's Bakery Got a sweet tooth you just need to satisfy? Come down to Betty's Bakery! As you can tell, she too likes to partake in the deliciousness that is her own baked goods. Revered across Eleutheria as one of the best bakers in the land, Betty can make anyone a believer in sweets. Black Garden Asylum In the deepest parts of Eleutheria, there is rumored to be a prison, run by the worst warden anyone has ever heard of. They don't even know her name...Well...not so much as rumor. More of one of those stories you tell your children at night. "Don't be bad unless you want to end up in Black Garden Asylum. Where all the bad people have to stay forever." This does not happen, as the inmates are inmates for a reason. Not only is it impossible to get in, but impossible to get out. The High Night Considered one of the most plush taverns in Eleutheria, The High Night offers amazingly luxurious rooms for a decent price. Clean drinks and even cleaner washrooms, Ellis takes care of her patrons and makes sure they leave relaxed and refreshed. A Cup Above The Rest Eleutheria, the beautiful capitol of Simul. Full of shops with reputations of being the best. A Cup Above the Rest is no exception. High quality potions and concoctions await your shopping spree! Not a single complaint has been had about the shop nor the owner, Yohan. Menu Here
- Temples of Unity | Kingdom of Simul
Library of Shit Category Temples of Unity Temples of Unity Year 10,013 In the year 10,013, the month of Dissilio, something erupted. Quite literally. During the season of warming, there were more quakes. This time, much smaller on scale. However, strong enough to cause some damage. The Temples of Unity, the center of Timberholde, the northern outskirts of Oak Silva, directly above the entrance of Dun'Lorn, and the center of Tranquillum were all affected at the very same moment. In the middle of each quake, a split in the earth appeared. Almost like large craters, these holes were deep and....pulsated. Those who bore witness tell the tale of the trees. In less than an hour, the massive trees erupt from the craters created. Fully furred with leaves and tough bark. Those who heard the stories knew what had happened. The Tree had returned five-fold. The stories began to spread again. Of the time of the war between brothers. Between good and evil of the original Tree. Jayden had struck the tree down. The large and beautiful piece erupting into thousands of pieces. However, the story goes, that some innocent lives witnessed the attack and took it upon themselves to take the only salvageable pieces of the Tree and bury them across the land. What people did not know was that these were no stories nor myths nor rumors. It had happened. And now...the Tree had returned. After the bursting of the Tree of Life back into the land, many wondered if Simul would finally find peace again. Unfortunately for them, and thanks to a bad bedtime story, the great kingdom would not be so lucky. Everyone knew the moment the first woman appeared. Out of portals surrounding the island came demons and dragons alike. If that wasn't enough, another woman appeared and began to chant and use her own blood to write runes along the base of the Tree's barrier. If it were not for a group of random strangers coming to the aide of the island, The Tree of Life may have been destroyed right then and there. After a lengthy battle between protectors and aggressors, the Tree was saved, as well as lives. Still, the destruction was enough for King Alfred to ask the citizens of his great kingdom to send more aide and rebuild.
