- Roleplay Cheat Sheet | Kingdom of Simul
Library of Shit Stuff and Things Roleplay Cheat Sheet Roleplay Cheat Sheet Partake in a whole ass CHEAT SHEET for not only character creation, but roleplaying in general. Here, you will find a whole library's worth of information when it comes to these subjects. Some simple things to remember when creating a character 📌You can have more than one profile. But don't go overboard! Too many profiles usually equals burn out. 📌Simul is a "young" country. (In quotes cause we have seen so many "MY CHARACTER IS A BAJILLION YEARS OLD" profiles) Barely breaking the ten thousand years old mark. If your character is from Simul, please make their age appropriate. 📌Along with that, if your character is not from Simul, please use one of the following excuses on how they got there: 📌If they are from a different realm, how did they get there? 📌Were they thrown in through some sort of time travel? 📌From a sister land? Probably by boat or something. I mean, unless they like swimming. 📌Portals? Can they make them at will? Make sure to add that to their profile. Please and thanks. 📌Power/Ability lists can be hard. A hint? Make them as detailed as possible. It helps to avoid too many questions and complaints. 📌Playing an evil character will get that particular OC shade pretty quick. Keep this in mind when playing "edgy bois". It is hard to interact with characters that are jerks, ya know? Not saying there is no place for evil/edgy/awkward characters! 📌There is no set list for races. You can play literally whatever you want. There is a list of Race Native to Simul found HERE 📌Your character does not have to be from a marked city or village. Your character can have a home randomly placed throughout the map or can be from a small, unnamed village, etc. Just be warned, if you go with someone unnamed, please do not expect it to be added to the map. We leave creative freedom up to you, but Simul will always have its own continuity. 📌You can name this village 📌It will not be added to the map 📌It can be a standing village, or a nomadic tribe of sorts 📌It can have shops and tavern and all the good shit in it How to Write a Fantastic Roleplay Ad Wondering why your ad is not getting the type of response you are hoping for? It may be lacking some amazingly simple details that can get you some attention. Here is a checklist that will help! 📌Who is your character? Give a couple details about their personality. 📌What kind of roleplay are you looking for? Romance? Slice of life? Adventure? Combat? 📌Where is your character located? 📌Where would you like to roleplay? 📌How often do you respond? Every hour? Once a day? Casually? Once a week? 📌What is your average post length? 📌Is this going to be long term or a short term scene? Just adding a few finer details to your Roleplay Request can make all the difference! Roleplay Basics Looking to brush up on some skills? Or just learning for the first time? Whatever it may be that caused you to click this link, I do hope you enjoy! Here, I have compiled a short "How To" on the basics of text based roleplaying. First thing's first: What is text based roleplaying? This is a form of roleplaying where you create a character and live out their lives through text. Much like writing a book, but with other people. Or yourself. I mean, I have seen a lot of people over the years prefer to roleplay with themselves. Interesting, but functional! Finding partners online has become easy, yet difficult all at the same time. Imagine: You have just thought of the perfect character, and you want to put them in a world where you can write about them and watch them grow. Well, where to start? Finding a great community, or making your own! Then, you just start. Sounds simple, right? That is because it is! Though we may be a dying breed, there are still tons of us out there just waiting to share and create with others. How to write a post This one is a little more difficult to explain, however, I will do my best to do it in an easy to understand way. A post is a segment of writing in which your character is interacting with the world and other characters around them. However, this is not all. Here comes the more in depth part. What makes a great post? Many people assume that a big post equals a great post. This could not be further from the truth! Especially if you are new to roleplay and worry when you click through channels and see massive posts that look rather intimidating. Do not let that fool you. There are many aspects to posts. Keep this list in mind: 📌What is your character feeling? Do these emotions happen to cause them to do anything? Eyes fluttering? Fingers tapping? Chewing on their lip? Belching because they are too full? 📌What are they thinking about? Did the thoughts change? Do they think in first or third person? Is it their own voice they are hearing? A voice of a parent? Or perhaps a long lost love? Is it a particular memory? Was it good? 📌What are they wearing? What is the other person wearing? What does the other person look like? Did your character happen to notice something in particular? Why? 📌What is around them? 📌What are they doing? 📌Are they interacting with the world around them? Tell us about it! These are just a few questions to ask yourself when typing a post. Not every single post needs to include every little detail, like the bubbles inside of a water glass, or the odd scent of dust and parchment. Especially if you are new and not quite sure if you cannot post more than our character minimum. Use a detail here and there. Trust me, your post will grow over time. Before you know it, you may reach multi-para posting and not even realize it! Common Decencies when roleplaying with others There are a lot of ways to go about roleplaying on a platform such as discord. First thing I suggest is always ask your partner this question: How often are you on? Why, do you ask? Because, this will set the pace for posting! If you are someone who likes to post one right after another, then you may have to plan that out. If you are someone who is slow and can only post once per day, you may want to warn anyone you are playing with that is the case. On a server where there is only one channel per location, it is always a great idea to ping after your post. Not only does it help the person(s) you are roleplaying with find your post in case other groups are also playing in the location, it helps to not force them to sit there all day waiting on your posts. Simple way of making sure no posts are forgotten! Besides, there is that nifty little @ button on discord that people can use to check their pings. Don't leave your partner(s) hanging for days. Around our server (which may be much different than others.), most people will give you a three day courtesy waiting time before moving on with their characters' stories. That is only fair, right? I mean, how would you like it if you were scene locked and couldn't do anything with the overwhelming craving to roleplay? Speaking of scene locks, that is not a thing here! Only if you make it a thing. Common Dangers of Online Roleplaying Though the list is expansive, I will stick to the most important ones to look out for. Metagaming: The act of using player knowledge in character Oh yes, the dreaded metagaming. Though we always love when people read our profiles, we hate it when people metagame. How do we remedy this, you ask? CALL THEM OUT. Do not hesitate. Hesitating leads to the problem only getting worse. If you need a mod or an owner to come take a look, just message or ping us! Simple. Being Ignored: When someone does not read your entire post, or respond appropriately. Solution? DM or ping them in the RP Discussion and let them know. Point out what it is they missed. When roleplaying in large groups, this tends to happen more. It's no big deal. It happens to anyone. Just have an open line of communication. God Modding: When someone refuses to be hit and/or tries to autohit Just...tell a staff member. I am not entirely sure where this whole "Snitches are bitches" came from, but this type of problem does not go away on its own. Usually, it causes OOC to flood the RP channels, or arguments. If you have a good partner, yes, you may be able to point it out and have it be fixed. If not, come to the staff. Sometimes, staff will step in if they see it and it is not resolving. That is what they are there for. THE BIG OOF Blurring the Line: The act of associating IC and OOC This is a HUGE and unfortunately common problem. We do NOT tolerate such things in the server. If you personally have a problem with someone making this, or thinking perhaps they are, please please please send all screenshots to a staff member in DM. This needs to be handled with care and without pointing fingers where everyone can make a big deal of it. The common signs that someone is indeed blurring the line would include the following: 📌Getting upset at something that happened in character and taking it out OOC 📌Referring to a character as a different gender (Such as referring the character as the player's gender) 📌Using player names for characters 📌DM roleplaying gets oddly personal 📌Falling 'in love' with the player after the characters become an item. (Biggest issue) 📌Anything that tells you in your gut that something is wrong 📌Getting butthurt when you have another character that is an item with someone else other than theirs A Final Note We are all here to have fun and enjoy a hobby. Though you will find I have said this other places, I would like to reiterate: THIS IS A HOBBY, NOT A JOB Have fun out there! Send Send Send Send No Updates Yet Posted: Updated: Views Back to Top
- Give us honor!...and ale. | Kingdom of Simul
Library of Shit Archived/Retired Give us honor!...and ale. Give us honor!...and ale. Dun Lorn has opened it's doors during this time of atonement and end of the year celebrations. Within the walls of the heavily guarded city, deep inside of the mountain, the famous Kraghumlin Dimtoe has invited those from all across the land to challenge his title of "Drunken Saint". Anyone who can last and drink the least will win the title of "Drunken Saint-2019", have their last post displayed in Hall of Fame, and be gifted an unbreakable dwarven stein that will fill with ale whenever the user chooses. Keep in mind, this is no ordinary drinking contest. A special blend has been prepared by the highest mages the dwarven city has to offer. Not a single person has ever been able to break the championship record of 50 drinks....not even the ghostly spirits themselves. Please take heed as this may be your biggest hangover yet! Rules: Everyone will have a drinking tolerance of 50 drinks. Once you reach 50 or more, you will no longer be in the contest. Please play this appropriately. There is no post minimum. However, posts add to the humor of having your character drunk as hell! We will be using a "!roll 6" command. This is a die that the characters will be using to determine how many drinks they must consume. We will be posting in an order that will be determined beforehand. We will ping everyone who is participating before the assigned staff member posts for Kraghumlin Dimtoe, as he will also be participating. If you would like out of the contest, please type a post of your character leaving and let the staff member know in RP Discussion with a ping. We will be giving this three days to finish. Whoever has consumed the least amount of alcohol by the end of the three days will be crowned the winner. (However, if you do not post and hold up the line, we will skip and assume you are no longer participating.) Please ping the next person in line so they know to roll their die. Post Structure: Roll your 6 sided die. Post (or not) your character drinking. Staff will record the amount of drinks. Ping next person in line. Super simple! And most of all, HAVE FUN! In order to participate, please react to this announcement in the event channel. We will be starting this event as of 12/4-12/7. Send Send Send Send No Updates Yet Posted: Updated: Views Back to Top
- Simul Quarterly Issue 1 (June, 2023) | Kingdom of Simul
Library of Shit Simul Quarterly Issue 1 (June, 2023) Simul Quarterly Issue 1 (June, 2023) Hello all Simulians! With our newfound strength and technologies, we here at Coexisting Connections would like to present our first ever Simul Quarterly! We will make it our mission to give the people local and relevant 'gossip' of the kingdom to keep all of you in the know. So....where do we start? How about this whole new technology thing? Don't get this writer wrong , what happened in Timberholde will forever scar the minds and souls of the people of Simul. Having lost so many lives and homes, the awful event will haunt us til the end of time. Yet, Simulians are resilient! Not only has our largest city been rebuilt, but the survivors are thriving among the living! We have even acquired some new faces and even more new things. As word and teachings have been spread word of mouth, Simul is now home to many new objects that are seemingly making life so much easier! Have you seen those automobiles? I, myself have attained a brand new Telegem and cannot go a day without it. Being able to communicate with friends and family so easily is just top notch! You know what else I heard? Those who aided in Timberholde were given special deeds from the King himself! I am not sure what it was, but I also heard that it was big . I wish we knew who these people were so we could give them a day or something... Needless to say, Simul seems to have recovered quite nicely. Now, for the fun stuff! Do you find yourself lonely? Looking for love, but not finding anyone of note to take home to the parents? Wishing you knew where to find Mr. Right with the deep pockets mayhaps? Look no further than our next section! Introducing: Simul's Most Eligible Bachelors!!!! Bachelor Number One: @Muse Meet Alabaster. Successful in mineral and gemology, if he is tasked with appraising such things. Able to create diamonds and various gems and other precious stones, could be rich if he found it necessary. Enjoys sunshine and likes dogs and flowers. Look at that glowing skin! Isn't he a handsome hunk of man? (After Simul Quarterly is published, Alabaster find himself having a very difficult time leaving his home without at least three different people waiting outside, oh so patiently for him to emerge, for more than three months following. With bright eyes and clasped hands, most of the requests are not for his undivided attention so much as gifts . "I'm poor!" "I broke my pendant!" "Can you really produce gems?" None of these requests are so simple, however, having the uncanny tint of lust behind every word uttered. Almost...uncomfortably. How did they even find him?) Bachelor Number Two: @Licht Introducing Regnar. Though he is a devil-possessed and widely feared for that reason, he runs a successful blacksmithing operation, though he is mostly absent if not on search for rare materials or on any other business, personal or otherwise. Something of an equivalent to a popular other-wordly game serious character type, thriving on heretical strength without concern for things like status or public opinion. If he didn't spend most of his time playing dark hero, he would most likely amass a decent fortune through his business. Tough as nails, with all the brawn to back up his sharp tongue. Hot damn, amirite? (After Simul Quarterly is published, business is booming! At first, it was slow building, but eventually, Regnar would find himself quite overrun with many orders....all in person, of course. The flirty eyes and gifts of sweets are enough to make anyone sick, but, as like most things, it would be nice at first. After eight weeks of having to play coy or outright deny the advances, he starts to find... notes nailed to his door.) Bachelor Number Three: @Lord Fantasy Xavier Alabaster Alfonse, legally demonstrable good boy. Psychically capable, dabbles in alchemy, most importantly having a cute face, scritchable ears, and an impeccable fashion sense. Perhaps even more most importantly, rich by family name. He's even a mysterious detective! Do you think he is skilled enough to make it to your heart? (After Simul Quarterly is published, Xavier feels embarrassed enough from the initial influx of affection and recognition that he starts to avoid new detective work for a while. Staying home and keeping himself as busy as possible, he soon finds himself bored and...well, lonely. So, after a few weeks, he is certain that things have blown over and he can go get himself some food to fill his cupboards. Unfortunately, the die-hard fans have been waiting just behind the corner this whole time. The sound a squeal of happiness damn near shreds his ears to bits.) Bachelor Number Four: @Jellopy Lord Virgiliu Munteanu. A nobleman from a mountainous land's old money, has since acquired a fertile plot of land in Simul. The finest hunter in the kingdom (don't look it up), able to wrest wild beasts bare-handed, terrify bears with a single stare, and lift two women on each hand, his ALPHA MALE PRESENCE cowers lesser men within his sight. All that Virgiliu's heart desires rightfully belongs to him, and whatever doesn't, he will force into submission. His generosity is without bounds. As the greatest hunter of the kingdom (don't look it up), he often shares the spoils of his unparalleled hunts in his great feasts in his old-fashioned stone castle, where he also allows weary travelers to rest. But if someone fails to show him the respect he is owed (which is very easy, he's entitled as a bitch), he will make a bloody example out of them. While he casually enjoys the delights of women and is always accepting more, Virgiliu is only truly interested in those high-value enough to stand side-by-side with him, to terrorize towns together and claim their rights as King and Queen. Are you simply looking for a night of the excesses only an ALPHA MALE can provide, or will you be the one to shroud the land in darkness with him? He looks like the total... package . (After Simul Quarterly is published, Virgiliu will find himself quite enjoying the added attention he is getting. All the ladies and all the men, flocking and flaunting all over him. Hell, he could have easily bitten and fed off of any of them...Weeks would go by and he would feel like a KING, but something just felt off. What was it? Wait a minute...where was his favorite toy, Max? After digging himself from the pile of harem he had created, Virgiliu would traverse the large home his followers had built him just outside of the newly finished Timberholde to find Max, the cat boy, bowing before a golden statue of the vampire that hadn't been there before and chanting. All it would take was a clearing of Virgiliu's throat to prompt Max to turn around, knife in hand and a wild grin on his face. "If I can't have you to myself ...") Bachelor Number Five: @Zero Kisaragi This is Zero. A "man of no consequence" by his own description. That humble façade hides an extremely capable researcher and fighter that tends to venture out in the world and collect his own research material, magical artifacts, often from the lairs of dangerous creatures. Outside of that, he governs a city far away from Simul, under a different name. He values knowledge and a willingness to expand ones knowledge more than anything else. Despite his looks, he is also extremely tough and knowledgeable himself. Aloof and rational, but kindhearted when given the chance. A traveler that could likely do with someone traveling at his side, or someone that guides him home. A face even your mother would love! (After Simul Quarterly is published, while out on a short artifact retrieval mission mostly for personal purposes, Zero hadn't even heard of this 'list' he had been mentioned in. This...was not to his fortune. As he often did, the shadow had come close to finding the item in question, some sort of locket that supposedly contained the soul of a future God, when he happened across the path of three women. Now, smiling, very beautiful ladies standing in the depths of a long abandoned village hidden among the Red Mountains was odd enough, but the way their crazy eyes were seemingly trying to not only penetrate his soul, but his clothes too, Zero was just about to 'NOPE' out when he found himself feeling rather...dizzy? Waking up in a dimly lit cabin to one of the women attempting to peel off his top....) Bachelor Number Six: @Martin (19) Charles Coaulsofur. This is the sort of man that exudes charm through no effort of his own, gathering attention from both women and men, which is enjoyed equally by him. Charles is a figurehead, well known through all of Simul for his skill in metalwork, not only by mundane, but by his natural talent for enchanting metals, from jewelry to sculptures, anyone with an enjoyment of the shiny things in life will have plenty to show off. Make no mistake though, ensnaring this exquisite piece of platinum (for not even gold can apply to how rare Charles is) is not for the faint-hearted. With well over a century of life, he avoids for fear of outliving and difficulty of relating to those with a similar lifespan. But for those who manage to win the heart of this dragon, they will be richly rewarded. A life of riches and luxury, mixed in with cozy warmth and a strong sense of adventure across Simul. Strong enough to carry you over that threshold I see! (After Simul Quarterly is published, lonely souls and dragon hunters alike decided to wage war. For what, you ask? For the heart of Charles, of course! Now, it may be flattering to have people fight for your affection...but that was not the 'heart' the hunters were after. And after a few weeks of dodging bullets and... bullets , Charles would find himself in a very peculiar situation. All he wanted to do was go the the general store and get some flour for bread...why were there people confessing their love while simultaneously throwing explosives at a long line of tied up prisoners? OH GOD.) Bachelor Number Seven: @Spook This is Joseph. Joseph is a talented mage and swordsman, seeking to decipher the literal secrets of life and death. He specializes in lightning and water magic, and favors swords and spears. Right now he's technically an advanced student at Gul Academui, undertaking solo studies while occasionally giving lectures. He isn't afraid to kill for fight for protect the ones he cares about. He's also got an unhealthy sleep schedule something of a night owl, and happens to be of a foreign draconic lineage. His main interests include exploring new branches of magic to study, and even if it's not something he can learn, he still appreciates incredible innate power natural talent in others. He has a soft spot for avian creatures having raised a griffon, and enjoys long fights walks on the beach. Hauntingly handsome, if I do say so myself! (After Simul Quarterly is published, Joe had been doing what he always did. Training and reading nd attending classes like a 'good bean'. Hey, he was trying , right? For a couple months since the article, Joe had found himself in a few situations here and there. Clingy women, envious and aroused men, and even the occasional sentient beast had come to try their hand at capturing this brooding man's heart, all for naught. Needless to say, this did not go over well with some. Unfortunately for Joe, some of the some were...very powerful. One in particular that had had her eye on the mage for quite some time. As poor Joe-bean was just walking down the hall of Gul Academui, he could feel the eyes on him. Damn, he wished Silver was there to take the heat off of him. Just as the thought passed through his mind, the sound of slamming bodies coming from behind him had Joe spinning around, just in time to witness the last victim's face hit a marble wall. Before he could help the fallen, he too was slammed against the wall, but a warm, female form pressed against his front. A finger tilted his chin to her crazy wide eyes. "What's it gonna take to make you mine?") Bachelor Number Eight: Last in our list, but certainly not least : Lord Silver Drafaylum @Silver Drafaylum Despite his high title, fairly earned in the lands of Simul, Silver is not only mysterious, but humble. How such aspects could be paired with a man this good looking? Having made a name in our kingdom by his many works in aiding, philanthropy and charity, the half wolf, half elf masterpiece is almost a household name. Recently available, Silver may not be looking for anything serious, but this writer has it on good authority that he is a sucker for dark haired beauties and hopes for a family of his own. If stability is what you want, this wolf man is a fantastic choice! I mean, come one , the man lives in a castle! Known for his good looks, the company he keeps, and the viscous way he protects his own, this Lord is easily one of the best choices for a Happily Ever After. Do you think you can tame the beast within? (After Simul Quarterly is published, Silver was hit hard . Not violently, not yet. Being the owner and 'dean' of a magical academy made his already known name rather large after the Simul Quarterly came out. For weeks , the poor man had to endure love letters, unnecessary gifts, and relentless pioneering by males and females alike. Luckily, with his particular set of skills, he could often teleport out for 'emergencies' and 'Guardian matters'. Still, this did not stop the onslaught of 'fans'. In the background, unbeknownst to anyone , a small cult within the school walls had started. Senka happened upon the secret room, but before she could warm the wolven man, the group of a dozen women cast a sealing circle around her artificial body, trapping her behind walls. Though the effort was temporary, it was just enough time to find the headmaster and explain their...'emergency'. Silver, being the protective man he is, followed the group of women down a hallways he knew they shouldn't have been. That's when he found himself lost in his own cas-Wait. This wasn't his castle. Where the hell was he? And why was his head so fuzzy....wow...they were really pretty.) Thank you for reading Simul Quarterly! This is Flynn, signing off! - Ferax Villum | Kingdom of Simul
Library of Shit Town Updates Ferax Villum Ferax Villum Messis 2, 10,017 Read more in BREAKING NEWS Laughter and merriment could be heard throughout the kingdom as the farmers were once again celebrating another good harvest. Food and drink flowed freely as the unsuspecting people of Simul were watched from the shadows. Hooded figures lurked just outside of anyone's sight, their eyes set on one target; the very food the farmers were celebrating . Not just what they had harvested already, but all of their fields. Every piece of wheat, bean, or ear of corn was doomed. The robed figures kept watch just waiting for the perfect moment to strike. They waited until almost everyone had gone to sleep. Those that remained in the fields or the barns were too drunk to notice anything. Even if they had been sober, they would not be able to stop what was about to happen. Once the robed figures felt it was time to move, they did . Flames roared to life around them to burn every last plant to cinders. Nothing was spared. Nothing. Anything and everything that stood in their way burned with the precious crops. Enough food for dozens of families turned to ash before anyone realized what was going on. The smell of smoke and the sound of roaring flames pulled everyone from their beds. Horror and panic hit everyone who witnessed it. Men, women and children all did what they could to put out the flames...though, their efforts were in vain. The heat from the fires evaporated the water before it could even reach the flames. Screams for water...screams for help. Many could even be heard calling out to the mages they had shunned. Asking... no, begging for help. Those that could have helped cowered behind their locked doors, fearful of what could happen if they rendered aide. Great numbers of magical and non-human beings fled from their homes as registrations became more common, alongside the growing racism against them, leaving the human communities more vulnerable than they had ever dreamed. This was not an isolated incident; farms across the kingdom were burned. Dry Gulch, SkyHaven, Subury, Wingston, Timberholde, Ferax Villum, and even Concordia were hit alongside multiple other villages and farming areas. It was almost the same story at every farm that was burning: Those that could have helped refused. A small few cities managed to save food. Their mages were quick to respond and quell as many of the fires as they could. However, even with their quick actions, much of their food was destroyed. What could be salvaged was inventoried and stored in the safest places people could find. Alongside the massive loss to the winter food supply, hundreds of people and livestock were also slain. The countless lives and resources that were lost in the night left all that witnessed the horrors of it choking on the smoke and ash of their dreams . What witnesses hoped was a sick nightmare was revealed to be anything but. The nightmare was real and no one knew what to do. Cries of sorrow and a strange letter filled the air. The letter was simply written on paper bearing the Guardian's seal; “We of the CONGREGATION will not be silent. If the King won't hear our cries, we will make him. We will starve him out if we have to, along with anyone else who would follow his laws.” The news of all the fires across the kingdom had the streets of Eleutheria humming with hectic whispers or outright blame against magic users. Conspiracy theories about what happened spread like wildfire; The letters from the “CONGREGATION”, and the Guardians had everyone terrified. They were all looking to Ferren for answers. No word came for hours, confirming for the people that what happened was far worse than before. Eventually, Ferren emerged from the castle to stand on the highest balcony of the capitol. His normally charismatic voice was filled with sadness as it echoed through the heart of Simul. Even his appearance suggested he had not slept. His clothes were a rumbled mess and his hair was far from tamed. Redness surrounded his eyes from intense crying. “It is with a heavy heart that I address you all in such a manner. I am sure you have all heard the news by now. Our kingdom…has suffered a tremendous loss. The crops that normally sustain us through the long winter have been destroyed. Burned to a crisp alongside the brave men and women who tried to stop the inferno. Their sacrifice ensured that everyone could gather and defeat our oldest of foes. The cause of the fires is still unknown but we believe it to be a series of horrible accidents. I would love nothing more than to believe that, but with witnesses coming forward, it has been apparent that the attacks were perpetrated by magic users. The best people we have are looking to find the cause of what caused this tragedy…” Ferren's voice cracked as more mist threatened to fall from his eyes, the acting king haphazardly wiped away the tears that never fell as he tried to compose himself. He kept his face hidden for a few minutes in silence before he moved his hands to speak again. “We can move on from this tragedy as one but I need the help of every Simulian. We do not have enough food for the winter. As of today, all food is to be brought here to Eleutheria so it can be rationed out appropriately. All are welcome to come and get your daily meals. Those of you traveling great distances will be allowed to get enough for a few days. Every month, we will be shipping out ration bundles to each city and community to sustain. All magical beings wanting their rations are required to provide their registrations. This is to keep us all safe and uphold peace of mind. We have also decided to place a special barrier around the capitol to help further protect the food we will all need to survive. It kills me to have to do this to you all. Rationing will leave us all hungry as we try our best to make it through these trying times. I encourage everyone to do what they can to provide for their families. If you have extra, please give it to those that need it more than you. Hunters, share your bounties as you get them. Farmers that have lost their crops should reach out to us. We can provide seed to hopefully grow something before the cold seasons hit. We will make it through and come out better for it. May the Gods bless us and help usher us through the trials they felt, we as a people, needed to endure.” "If you have any questions relating to the recent events, any citizen of Simul is welcome to write to me directly. You may also tag Malum Distantia via Simul Social. Please Simul, love thy neighbor as they were your own family. We will succeed." OOC Note: Ferax Villum, as a whole, was very obliged to follow these orders. Send Send Send Send No Updates Yet Posted: Updated: Views Back to Top

- XMas Event "Krampus Rumble" - 2018 | Kingdom of Simul
Library of Shit Archived/Retired XMas Event "Krampus Rumble" - 2018 XMas Event "Krampus Rumble" - 2018 Every year, Simul celebrates good fortune by sharing with their fellow man. This year, however, something much darker looms. A creature, of YOUR choosing. Below, you will find two beasts. While those who choose to celebrate and rebuild the great city of Arbrestor, an attack will be immenant. Each will be boss level, of course. We will be having a massive vote on these. You can pick one or the other by reacting appropriately. Team red vs. Team green! The battle will be quite a bit different than before. Mostly for hilarity, we will be using a dice system for success and damage. This is how posts will go: 📌Mega Boss: Bursts in 📌Players: Type up the first part of your post. This will include what attack your character uses. Only one attack per post. Roll a D20. 1-10, hit fail. 11-20, hit connects. Second part of post is following through, whether it hits or not. Make it fun! Or funny. XD Those who connect roll another D20. That is the amount of damage. 📌Mega boss: Describes the damage and dodges. Rolls D20 for attacks. Can attack each person once. - Questionable Powers List | Kingdom of Simul
Library of Shit Stuff and Things Questionable Powers List Questionable Powers List This is a basic work up of questionable or often complained about character aspects. This is to be used by staff if there are complaints that need to be moderated, and for members should they have questions on why and how we make decisions. Think of this list as a "Reference Point" for T1 standards. These are not set in stone and most scenarios are treated on a Case BY Case basis. 📌 Ability/Knowledge Mirror/Steal/Mimic/Absorb/Copy This should always be asked OOCly for it to work. It's common practice in T1 for OOC Perms on this one as you are taking another persons' characters' abilities and such and using them for your own. 📌 "Absolute" abilities/Item These are a no go. As you can tell from reading this list already, we limit a lot of things. This is a story based server. So, with that, comes a big "No" for anything "Absolute." For Example: Absolute Immunity to X Type of Magic. We will, however, allow for some immunity. For example, your character can be immune to fire, but they cannot be immune to all kinetic damage, all magic, all physical damage, and the like. We have been known to allow turn based absolute immunity. It all depends on the rest of the character and how balanced it may be. 📌 Absorption Depending on how this is written, it may need OOC Perms, or it may need to be explained more. This also ties in with Syphoning. 📌 Alchemy Your character may be an alchemist, but this does not mean they can pull a "Item/Potion/Whatever the fuck of Convenience" constantly. We suggest listing what your character has on hand at any given time to reduce complaints, especially in combat scenes. 📌 Anti-Magic This is something the team of mods and owners have come up with to satisfy people who would like this type of power, yet keep it balanced and not something to completely incapacitate magic only users. You can feel free to copy and paste this to a profile if need be. 📌📌 Anti-Magic Aura: This is an aura, 5 ft in radius from the user, that diminishes all magic. Any kind. This does not stop projectile magic being thrown at the user. That magic will pass through and hit (should it not be dodged.). This also diminishes enchantments on weapons and armor that come into contact with the aura. Once the opponent steps out of the aura, the enchantments are intact. This causes massive damage to any magical beings as well. The more magic they are made out of, the more damage can ensue. 📌📌 Anti-Magic Items : Items that can be swung at, thrown at, etc magical projectiles in order to avoid attack. This type of ability, with certain/more description could also be approved. 📌 Armies Armies or anything more than five minions are reserved for staff only for events. Your character is allowed to have an army, or a crew and the like, but using them in a combat scene may cause problems. Lore bending events are reserved for staff. 📌 AOE PLEASE put the ranges on these. 📌 Autohits This is a move that guarantees a hit. This is a no no. There either needs to be a build up so the opponent(s) can avoid it if need be or a visual/auditory cue. You can write out a post as if the attack lands to give more of a description for your opponent, but you can never assume that the attack will land. 📌 Automatons These will need to be magically run as we do not really allow high tech. Some mechanical aspects are completely acceptable. Please refer to Questionable Items List for a more in depth look at Simul's technological levels. 📌 Blood Manipulation Spilled blood - No OOC Perms Blood inside someone else' body - OOC Perms 📌 Body Manipulation On your own character? Go for it. On someone else' character? Depending on how it is done, it will most likely require OOC Perms. 📌Charm/Glamour/Persuasion/"Silver Tongue" You can absolutely describe your character as the most charming and beautiful person in the kingdom. What you cannot do is say they always get their way with said abilities. If it is an actual magical ability, this would fall under the OOC Perms. 📌 Clones Clones are acceptable. Please list how many your character can create at any given time and what abilities they may or may not retain from the original. 📌 Creation Magic Creation magic seems to be a popular go to for people. Please keep the following in mind when creating your character(s): 📌Is there a theme? 📌Is this just an ability of convenience? 📌Do you keep T1 in mind when in combat scenes? 📌Can your character using this be misconstrued as BS? 📌 Dimensional Manipulation The power to create or shift to other dimensions could be tricky, especially if it involves affecting others. Should the ability force other characters to shift or move to other planes or dimensions, if not given a cue or way to escape, it would be better to slap OOC Perms on it. If large scale changes to landscapes within Simul happen, you can either use it and reverse it, or play this ability under your own continuity (Meaning: lore wise will not be updated to show that change) 📌 Domains These types of abilities work much like AOE, so they also need a range. Also, keep in mind T1 standards. Just because your character can use what you listed in the profile in their 'domain' does not mean they get preference for everything inside of said domain. 📌 Enhance Reflexes As most people use this as a "They are agile", just put THAT down. As with "Reaction Time", most of the time, this will be looked at with a cocked brow and a way to just auto dodge everything. We usually frown upon these types of "Abilities". 📌Fate Manipulation Controlling the fate of your own character is fine, as long as it is not used to auto-dodge/hit/control/etc. Controlling the fate of other characters will require OOC Perms as this type of ability cannot be avoided. 📌 Future Sight Ah, a tad touchy on this subject. Generally we say no. However, there have been some that use it more like a "Maybe this happens?" sort of deal. They cannot use it in the heat of battle to see their opponent's moves or the like. It is mostly for story purposes as it makes great story. If used on another character, it will probably be best to require OOC Permission. 📌 Gravity Manipulation Again, a bit "eh" on this one. The ones we usually approve are the ones who use it for travel. Or for levitation. Your character is welcome to have more of a range with this, but keep in mind cues for other characters to be able to avoid these types of attacks. If it does not have some sort of cue to make it avoidable, slap some OOC Perms on it. 📌 Heights and Weights Cities are made for 'normal' sized citizens. Please understand this going in with a giant or a mini. 📌 Immortality/Invulnerability Immortality to age, cool. Immortality as in "No one can kill my character", not cool. We may let you make the decision for your character(s) to be killed, but sometimes, the mods must make the call. If you are somehow written into a wall, it will be up to the team to decide whether or not your character is going down. (This is also listed in the rules.) Invulnerability is a no. Whether this is invulnerable armor, skin, magic barriers, the like. It MUST be able to be broken. There are events where you can earn the possibility to gain invulnerable items, so keep an eye out for that. 📌 Instant Damage We tend to keep these types of abilities at a minimum, or nerf them. Why? Let me lay it out for you: Your character's Fire hits the target - Fire INSTANTLY burns them to ash. Nah. Your character's Fire hits the target - Fire begins eating through like a normal fire would. Cool! See the difference? These sort of fall into the "Insta-Kill" type of attacks. You could argue that "They could've avoided it!", but it is a whole different level of nope that we have established eslewhere in this list. 📌 Invisibility This one is a sketchy one. We ask that you do not use this to "Teleports behind u. 'Nothing personel Ked'". Please. Don't. Things you can do to make it a bit more acceptable: 📌📌Put a time limit on it 📌📌Do not make them intangible while invisible 📌📌Do not make them unheard/silent while invisible 📌 Limit Breaks/Ultimate Moves We can understand wanting to have an ability that can "nope" your character out of a scene or give them an adrenaline rush to complete a battle. Please keep in mind, we hold these to the same standard as any ability. With the rest of the profile and abilities in mind, we still uphold the same limits. This is more of a side note for reminder. 📌Memory Manipulation Again, with most abilities that do not have any cue associated in order to make them avoidable, this will most likely need OOC Perms. If a physical or some sort of cue is involved, it would need a time scale in order to be avoidant as Mind Reading is also an OOC Perms ability. 📌 Mind Control You will always need OOC Perms for this. It is considered an auto-hit, and control of other characters, hence the perms. 📌 Minions/Companions Your character is allowed to have as many minions or companions as you want. With T1 in mind, and the fact that lore will not change unless the owners allow, destroying cities or Simul in general is something you can play, but will not be acknowledged. Yes, we want you to be creative, but we will keep the lore solid. 📌 Omni-Type These abilities are considered "Absolute". These abilities are frown upon in T1. Having a character that is "Omni-potent" or "Omni-Presence" is a God like ability and will, more than likely, be nerfed or completely denied by staff should a complaint arise. Don't say we did not warn you. 📌 One Shot Kill Moves/Insta-Kills You know what these are. Don't pretend that you don't. Any "powers" that could kill someone in an instant. I am not going to make a list of these, since, you know, common sense. Everyone has a choice whether or not their character dies 98% of the time. 📌 OOC Perms This means you will have to ask the other player if you can use it on them. These include but are not limted to the following: 📌Dice moves 📌Controlling their character in any way, shape, or form 📌Mind control 📌Emotional Control 📌Body Control 📌Illusions 📌Sense control 📌Persuasion 📌Intimidation 📌Soul Manipulation 📌Stun/locking into place 📌Anything considered an auto hit 📌Anything that has no auditory/visual/some sort of cue 📌 Poisons List EXACTLY what the poison does, how long it lasts, how it enters the target, how long it takes to reach full effect. All poisons MUST be curable by some sort of means (Unless you have gotten OOC Permission from the other player for possible character death). This will avoid future complaints 📌 Potions/Concoctions Be prepared to list EVERY SINGLE POTION your character can create or has access to at will. Along with all appropriate descriptions. You don't HAVE to list them off the get go, but if you continuously use them as items of convenience, you may be asked to list them. 📌Probability Manipulation/"Luck" This will always require OOC Perms when used on someone else' character. To use on your own character, that is fine. For example: If your character can flip a coin and that decides if they fail or succeed at a jump across a puddle, cool and awesome. If you use that same coin flip in order to decide whether or not your character succeeds in slashing a sword and connecting against a foe character, you need that other party's permission for that. 📌 Reaction Time Big sigh incoming. We have seen this "ability" come through entirely too often. People even going as far as to put an actual time point average on it. No. Just no. It is a round about way of saying "My character can see hits coming an avoid 99% of them". Nooooot gonna happen. Don't even put it on the profile. 📌Reality Warping/Manipulation Reality bending is a cool ass concept. However....it is, usually, associated with no way to avoid. Always give details of the area it affects, time limits, effects, and ways to avoid said attack/ability. Please also keep in mind, like with Domains, that just because a character can warp an area does not mean they can use to it become a god (Untouchable). 📌 Reflection Limit yourselves, people. Constantly using a reflection ability to auto-dodge everything will get you in hot water. 📌 Resurrections We will always ALWAYS ask you to put a week time limit on this. Just going around "HA! YOU ARE ALIVE BECAUSE I SAID SO WITH NO CONSEQUENCES!" doesn't work. This is not a combat based rp. This is a story based. Make this shit dramatic. It WILL tire your character, if they have this ability. It cannot happen instantly. We also do not allow unlimited resurrections. This is at the staff's discretion. 📌 Self Regeneration TIME LIMITS PEOPLE. You got a cut? Heal that shit in a couple minutes. Lost a fucking limb? Better slap a few days on that. Near death? Probably gonna put them in a coma for a few days and take at least a week to heal up. This is reasonable. Normal humans take MUCH longer than that. We can't have a bunch of people running through rains of swords (over exaggerating here) and just healing on the spot, being all invulnerable and shit. This scale is also one we use for healing in general. Please keep this in mind when making a character who can heal at an accelerated rate using magic/potions/etc. 📌 Shapeshifting We will always ALWAYS ask for every shift possible. This includes partial shifts, limb shifts, etc. We also ask how long it takes for shifts to happen and how long they last. If the character is able to mimic other characters' looks, slap OOC Perms on it. 📌Size Manipulation This is the ability to manipulate the size of people and objects. Again, with things that cannot be avoided because there is no cue, there would need to be OOC Perms. Always describe with examples what sort of objects/things can be manipulated and sizes. We also suggest you put a limit on how many times this type of ability can be activated in a time period. 📌 Soul Creation Unless your character is a God, or making a baby, there is no justifiable way to "create a soul" on a constant basis. If you want to have a character that can create souls, make sure it is believable. Clones, Horcruxes, Golems and the like are possible. 📌 Soul Manipulation Again, this falls into an auto-hit category. Unless it has a way to be avoided, it will require OOC Perms. 📌 Sound This works very similar to Telekinesis, which, in turn, would require some sort of cue or build up to the attack landing in order for your opponent to react and avoid. Shimmering, wind, something to give a way for someone to react. Also, putting a range on the affected area is something we may ask for. 📌 Speed Limits For running speed, we usually cap around 50 mph/80 Kmph. As for flight speed, we look at a lot of different aspects such as size of the character, how large the wings are, etc. This speed can obviously be much higher than running speed, but the cap we may ask you for depends on other aspects of the character. We only cap when speed becomes a complaint/problem. 📌 Syphoning Now, this type of ability seems fairly cut and dry, but it has SO MANY branches. Here are a few things to keep in mind: 📌📌Syphoning energy from around your character is fine. Put a range on it. Elaborate on what types and kinds of energies and things they are syphoning from. Should it become a problem, we may ask for a scale (How much in percentage and time limits, etc) 📌📌Syphoning from other characters WILL require OOC perms as there, more than likely, will not be a cue to avoid. Should it be by touch, it will need to be scaled (How much energy in how much time). 📌 Telekinesis As this ability is almost 100% invisible, we have decided to nerf it in our own way. All forms of telekinesis needs to have some sort of visual cue as to not be an auto hit. OR! You can slap OOC perms on it. We usually ask people to put a "shimmer" or "distortion" on anything their character does with this kinesis. 📌 Telepathy When it comes to controlling other characters, we will ALWAYS tell you to add OOC Permission to the power. You do not get to control other characters unless the player says you can. If this is used for purely communication, then it will not need a tag. Digging up memories? Tag. Telling someone they smell? No tag. Causing pain in the brain? Tag. Pretty simple, right? 📌 Teleportation/Portals NO MORE OF THAT "Teleports behind u" SHIT PLEASE. Put a distance on it. Do not use it multiple times in a singular action. Yadayadayada. 📌 Temperature Depending on the type of ability and size and other factors, we may ask for a temperature cap on an ability. This is not always something we will ask for, but it has been known to be asked. There is no hard cap for this either, but we may suggest different temperatures for different types of abilities. 📌 Time Control You will always be asked to use OOC Perms on this. 📌Weapon Summoning/Creation Please list all weapons/types. It makes for less complaints when in combat scenarios when the other party knows what to expect. 📌 Weather Manipulation Do not expect everyone to stop what they are doing in different scenes in order to acknowledge your character creating a giant tsunami to overtake Simul. 📌 Wide Spread Abilities Things that could affect lore must be approved by staff. Not saying you CAN'T have these abilities like plagues, weather, etc, but what we ARE saying is that it will not be recorded into lore, more than likely. Go nuts, but know that not everyone has to acknowledge it. More to be added as needed Send Send Send Send No Updates Yet Posted: Updated: Views Back to Top

"I saw Death. He resides in Wish Well." (High Fantasy Texted Based Roleplay. Join us on Discord today!) "I saw Death. He resides in Wish Well." Wish Well "Welcome!" A word one will never hear come from the mouths of Wish Well. Never again will you be greeted by genuinely warm smiles or firm handshakes. Wish Well is no longer. It would be best to turn back now. Wish Well was the largest trading village in the kingdom. Small town mentality. No one was left behind. No one begged for money. No one was left without food. Worldwide known for hospitality and kindness to its fellow man, Wish Well was known as the pinnacle of what Simul was trying to achieve. Perfect coexisting. The night the city fell was filled with screams of terror and calls for help. All went unheard as the massacre took place. Come morning, Wish Well would be no longer. Mother Nature has since attempted to reclaim much of the terrain and buildings. She has tried, and most of the time, failed. The only sight of disturbance comes in the form of graves in the town square. Freshly dug and all marked with poorly, hand made crosses. A handful of brave souls have come and gone from the desecrated ground. Whether to try and rebuild or attempt to find items that belonged to late family members. Come morning, all would be back to the way it was the day before. Some say it is a curse upon the land. Some say it is a warning. With all of the sightings and stories, all know that the land will forever keep the image of the night of the massacre. No matter one's beliefs, all know that Wish Well should be left undisturbed.
