The Ban - Precursor (Aligned with Breaking News) Calor 20th, 10,017 All she had planned was a simple trip down to the market to purchase a dozen eggs for breakfast. Perhaps a couple of peppers and some of that sharp cheese her husband loved so much.  The street lamps were still lit, casting eerie red streams of light through speckled blood that had sprayed over their glass enclosures. The awful squeak of metal on metal as the closest lantern still swung from the impact of haywire magic had been the only sound for mere minutes before her horrified scream woke the rest of the neighborhood. Only an hour later.... Telegems chimed and buzzed throughout Eleutheria following the haunting silence of the morning’s mess. As the news spread like wildfire over the city, and subsequently Simul as a whole, it was not hard to tell that…it wouldn’t matter what Ferren’s words were. People were scared. They were angry and confused. The worst part? They needed someone to blame.  As people began to make preparations and businesses started to open, Hell unleashed. It took the form, at first, of dirty looks, whispers, fingers pointing…To no one’s surprise, that peace did not last long. Within mere minutes, there were mobs. Masses of people looking to avenge their fallen neighbors. Groups seeking some sort of retribution. Everyone was a target…and they sought no prisoners.

Ignis 13th, 10,017 We have been watching, waiting and contemplating. The pain associated with the knowledge and no way to stop impending doom...I would not wish upon the most evil of souls. With the hurt expanding through the kingdom, choices have been made for people without so much as a question. Ferren, as he sits upon the seat of a throne, has chosen the side my sisters and I worried he would. It has begun in Eleutheria. So many have lost their lives in the past three months, and there is no way to fix it. I feel that Lyanna may be hiding something. the small glint of determination behind her eyes have been more than just worried. She disappeared a couple weeks ago only to return with a fire in her heart that I have not seen in years. Even keeping these writings is near impossible. If only I could write what I know, what I could do, what I could see with eyes that are unseen. What is the use of this ability if we cannot make this world better?

Simulian Flu Symptoms: The Simuliun Flu is much like any other flu. Symptoms include coughing, wheezing, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, excessive sweating, fever, headache, chills, lack of appetite, chest and nose congestion, sore throat, muscle aches, and fatigue. These symptoms range from person to person with severity also a case by case. Symptoms can last between 4 days and 3 weeks, depending on treatment and severity. Original Source: Often transmitted via bodily fluids, touch, and infected surfaces. Treatment: Many doctors advise rest, hydration and sustenance as the common ways to treat the Simulian flu. Name: Nasus Dolor (Sinus Infection) Symptoms: Symptoms range from a front-of-the-head headache to more severe aches and pains such as extreme congestion, coughing, fever, bloody nasal discharge, blurry vision, pain and tenderness to the face near the nasal passages, tiredness, lack of smell. Original Source: This virus can spread via touch to an infected surface or coming into contact with particles that are airborne. Treatment: Rest, decongestant medications/potions, hydration, etc can all be used to shorten the span of illness. Mana Sickness Symptoms: The symptoms of this illness often manifest differently depending on who contracts it. Non-magical people that get it often feel lethargic and have trouble breathing.  Fatigue is some of the worst, according to sufferers. Magical beings or mages that contract this disease have it far worse. They have all the same symptoms as non-magical people with the additions of lack of appetite and loss of muscle. When the infected use magic, it makes symptoms worse. This is marked by infected excreting a black liquid from their eyes or ears. A few known individuals cough it up, almost like they are drowning in the black ooze. Original Source: Unknown. No one knows how this disease is contracted. There are plenty of theories but no concrete proof.  Most contract mana sickness as adults out of the blue. An unlucky few are born with it.  Treatment: Only three treatments have been developed for this illness. The two most prominent treatments are known as Reaper (Named so because this potion is a poison to most things). If used correctly, can ease the symptoms of mana sickness.  The second is Mothers Bane; a plant cultivated by the snow elf priestesses for use in a variety of medicinal potions. It does not work as well as Reaper, however, this plant can be ingested by anything.  The final potion is unnamed and only rumored to exist. It is supposedly made of ingredients from another world. Rumored to give those afflicted with mana sickness complete relief from their illness for several weeks.  The other remedies are required to be taken daily, or even multiple times a day if those afflicted actively use magic.  Cure: No known cure. Fatality: Unfortunately, despite the availability of treatments, Mana Sickness is often fatal. Even with proper treatment, those infected may only get another ten years after first infection. Those poor souls who never die from it live a life of agony. Reports from a few of these beings are as follows: “It feels like I am breathing through mud every moment of the day. Even with my medication, I can barely walk up a flight of stairs without collapsing.” “My body feels like it wants to rip itself apart everyday. The headaches are bad enough, I sleep over eighteen hours a day. Even sleep is barely a reprieve.”  “I have tried to…. End things multiple times. I would rather be dead than keep living like this.”  “I never feel hungry. I have to force myself to eat more than a few bites of food, even if I like it. I only sleep two hours a day because the pain becomes too much. I sometimes sleep with a special mask so I can breathe properly. This stone, which can be found just about everywhere, including shops for a good price, is the base for 99% of potions, salves and other consumables/toiletries. Simul Stone is INCREDIBLY binding, making it the prime ingredient to mixing things and having them come together without much issue. You must grind this oddly soft stone into a powder before use. Non-toxic and flavorless, it is also amazingly easy to work with. Adds a really nice sheen and sparkle to anything it is added to.

These horse-type creatures have also been called 'Pegasus' by citizens who have come from a place called "earth". In Simul, however, these beasts do not have the same story as the pegasus, but the same overall construction. With a massive wingspan able of flight, they also adorn a horn atop their head that seems to be source of their magic. De-horned Ales are reduced to regular horses with flightless wings. With their beauty, they are a very popular mount choice for adventurers and the wealthy. Ales are fairly rare, making up less than 5% of Equus type beasts in the kingdom, which also make them extremely valuable and expensive. Most Ales have a celestial type of magic which include barriers, projectiles and even a type of telepathy in order to communicate with their handlers. They are very loyal to their chosen. Most people acquire these beasts from reputable breeders as taming wild Ales is nigh impossible. Tamed Ales are incredibly soft and calm creatures, with the intelligence of teenaged humanoids. They are also great with children and other animals. They can live upwards of 600 years whether domesticated or not, and females can give birth up to 15 foal in a lifetime. Their diet consists of mostly ruffage, but meat is an important part of their nutrition.

Though they appear to made of a mix of foliage, flowers, grass, trees, and various plantlife, they are truly dragons. No one Splendor looks the same which gives them a particular rouse of beauty. They are about as rare as any other type of dragon, but their tame-ability is rather difficult. They are well known for their camouflage in forested and meadow like areas. It probably helps that they have the ability to lend energy to the growth of plants and trees from their auras. It is not widely known how this happens. They can also produce this effect by focusing their breath on their surroundings. Splendors are also a bit smaller than most dragons, only growing to be a max of 25 feet long and 9 feet at the shoulder. They can weigh up to 5 tons (6000 pounds).

Crystal Crungler Update: As of the year 10,017, it has been discovered the reasoning behind the Crystal Crungler's transformation. One of these rare dragons was captured recently, and a scientist renowned in Simul was gifted a slice of its hide. After some studying, it was found that the dragon was a normal Red Dragon, but it had eaten Trux; a stone that is infamous throughout the land.
