  • Common Illnesses | Kingdom of Simul

Library of Shit Category Common Illnesses Common Illnesses You will find here a list of illnesses and diseases 'native' to Simul. If a disease/illness is not native to Simul, it will be labeled as such, alongside a description on how it came to Simul. This list is not complete and may be updated from time to time. Send Name: The Sniffles (Allergies) Symptoms: Coughing, sneezing, sore throat, chest and nose congestion, lack of taste and smell, mellow fever, headache Original Source: Allergens, dust, mold, heat, cold, dander, etc. Treatment: There are various potions and medications over the counter to help alleviate allergies whether seasonal or not. Most opt to take decongesting and throat soothing types as they deal with the most issues the fastest. It is also recommended to take headache medication in tandem. Cure: There is no cure for any type of allergies, only medications and potions to alleviate the symptoms. Fatality: The rate of fatalities is <.01%. Unless a person has a MAJOR allergy and goes into shock, they will survive. Submitted by @Silver Drafaylum @Lyanna Legend Send Mana Sickness Symptoms: The symptoms of this illness often manifest differently depending on who contracts it. Non-magical people that get it often feel lethargic and have trouble breathing. Fatigue is some of the worst, according to sufferers. Magical beings or mages that contract this disease have it far worse. They have all the same symptoms as non-magical people with the additions of lack of appetite and loss of muscle. When the infected use magic, it makes symptoms worse. This is marked by infected excreting a black liquid from their eyes or ears. A few known individuals cough it up, almost like they are drowning in the black ooze. Original Source: Unknown. No one knows how this disease is contracted. There are plenty of theories but no concrete proof. Most contract mana sickness as adults out of the blue. An unlucky few are born with it. Treatment: Only three treatments have been developed for this illness. The two most prominent treatments are known as Reaper (Named so because this potion is a poison to most things). If used correctly, can ease the symptoms of mana sickness. The second is Mothers Bane; a plant cultivated by the snow elf priestesses for use in a variety of medicinal potions. It does not work as well as Reaper, however, this plant can be ingested by anything. The final potion is unnamed and only rumored to exist. It is supposedly made of ingredients from another world. Rumored to give those afflicted with mana sickness complete relief from their illness for several weeks. The other remedies are required to be taken daily, or even multiple times a day if those afflicted actively use magic. Cure: No known cure. Fatality: Unfortunately, despite the availability of treatments, Mana Sickness is often fatal. Even with proper treatment, those infected may only get another ten years after first infection. Those poor souls who never die from it live a life of agony. Reports from a few of these beings are as follows: “It feels like I am breathing through mud every moment of the day. Even with my medication, I can barely walk up a flight of stairs without collapsing.” “My body feels like it wants to rip itself apart everyday. The headaches are bad enough, I sleep over eighteen hours a day. Even sleep is barely a reprieve.” “I have tried to…. End things multiple times. I would rather be dead than keep living like this.” “I never feel hungry. I have to force myself to eat more than a few bites of food, even if I like it. I only sleep two hours a day because the pain becomes too much. I sometimes sleep with a special mask so I can breathe properly. Even with proper treatment and exercise, some days I can't get out of bed. If I overuse my magic, I run the risk of putting myself into a coma.” Submitted by @Silver Drafaylum Send Name: Nasus Dolor (Sinus Infection ) Symptoms: Symptoms range from a front-of-the-head headache to more severe aches and pains such as extreme congestion, coughing, fever, bloody nasal discharge, blurry vision, pain and tenderness to the face near the nasal passages, tiredness, lack of smell. Original Source: This virus can spread via touch to an infected surface or coming into contact with particles that are airborne. Treatment: Rest, decongestant medications/potions, hydration, etc can all be used to shorten the span of illness. Cure: No Fatality: This sinus infection does not normally kill on its own, however, if left untreated, can lead to other complications that can be fatal. Submitted by @Lyanna Legend Send Simulian Flu Symptoms: The Simuliun Flu is much like any other flu. Symptoms include coughing, wheezing, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, excessive sweating, fever, headache, chills, lack of appetite, chest and nose congestion, sore throat, muscle aches, and fatigue. These symptoms range from person to person with severity also a case by case. Symptoms can last between 4 days and 3 weeks, depending on treatment and severity. Original Source: Often transmitted via bodily fluids, touch, and infected surfaces. Treatment: Many doctors advise rest, hydration and sustenance as the common ways to treat the Simulian flu. There are also many over the counter medications/potions that can be ingested to help the sickness along a bit quicker. Cure: None Fatality: Around .002% of people will die from Simulian Flu Submitted by @Lyanna Legend @Silver Drafaylum No Updates Yet Most Recent Update November 14, 2025 Views Back to Top

  • BREAKING NEWS Calor 20th, 10,017 | Kingdom of Simul

Library of Shit Category BREAKING NEWS Calor 20th, 10,017 BREAKING NEWS Calor 20th, 10,017 Hello citizens of Simul. I come to you today to report on developing news brought to you directly from our fair capital city. It was reported at 5:34 AM, constables were dispatched to the second level of Eleutheria near the intersection of Starwind and East where they quickly found a morbid scene. There have been a total of 47 fatalities and an unknown amount of injuries. According to witnesses and constable reports thus far, a grouping of fifteen robed figures descended upon the area and began knocking on doors just a couple of hours before. Apparently, they had been asking people for donations in hopes that they could gain access to unlocked homes. It has been said that this is when people were pulled from their homes and forced to line the road. The next details are not for the faint of heart. Please read with extreme caution: Those who were forced into the street were tied to one another and gagged to stifle their screams and protests. There seemed to be a ‘leader’ who then began speaking with a booming voice. From some videos that were taken with witnesses’ Telegems, the words spoken were: “People of Simul, it should come as no surprise that peace is nothing but a broken promise. Us magical and non-human people will never forget the trials and torture we have had to endure over the years. To this day, we still suffer in silence, dealing with your negative opinions, views, and prejudice while you all claim we coexist. It is time for us to take this land back. This is not our end. Only yours.” From there, the victims were set alight with what could only be described as lightning and fire magic. We only know it was magic due to witness testimonies and video evidence. This situation has prompted Ferren, our stand-in leader of Simul, to release the following statement and judgment: “Citizens of Simul, As horrible as this sounds, we need to do something drastic in order to keep our kingdom safe. From the moment this statement is released, all non-human and/or magical beings, items, etc MUST BE PURGED FROM ELEUTHERIA. Henceforth until further notice, Eleutheria will become a “Human Only District”. Those of you who reside within the walls of the capitol that must be displaced, please make your way to the nearest post office or city entrance for a voucher to make your transition to a new city easier. All magic and non-humans must leave the city limits within the next 24 hours. All establishments that sell/manufacture/teach magic must be shut down. As much as I would love to keep Simul whole, these attacks have fractured our safety and peace of mind in ways that will take time to mend. Please have patience and hold kindness for your neighbor. Ferren Drebek.” This is Lucius Scarletwound, reporting the news. Stay safe Simul. Send Send Send Send No Updates Yet Most Recent Update None yet Views Back to Top

  • Oh fuck, that's not Timberholde... | Kingdom of Simul

Library of Shit Events and Holidays Oh fuck, that's not Timberholde... Oh fuck, that's not Timberholde... Event dates: 4/14-4/18 "Oh, how I have looked forward to this day." Timothy was not a man that looked forward to much. He had once been excited for his first anniversary. He had also had experienced happiness at the thought of becoming a father. This had to top those, and then some. Not because he didn't care about his memories. But because mayhem had replaced happiness in his mind. He floated above the outskirts of his target, just out of reach of the impending event he was about to produce. In perfect alignment in order to view the massive city of Detroit crush the equally large city of Timberholde. A dark shadow, without so much as a chip on his shoulder, came just a bit closer. He was waiting for something. That something did not take long. The moment he heard the first scream, he knew it was time. Finally...he would be rid of two headaches. The city came down from its mile high position with enough force to rock the entire continent of Simul. Not a single soul would not be aware of something happening. To the furthest, perhaps an earthquake? To the closest...well...the last thing through their minds could have easily been a brick. Along with...tens of thousands of other decimated brains. There was no warning. There was no explanation. There was not even a loud evil laugh that echoed after the dust settled. And he didn't stay long enough to hear the gurgling, struggled breath of the closest fallen innocent. He had made his point. His work was done... for now. With the city of Detroit literally crushing Timberholde beneath its mass, the King of Simul has called for aide from every corner of this great land. Time is of the essence. Before the barriers collapse, the King has asked for any and every able bodied person to flock to Timberholde to rescue those still trapped beneath. This is a search and rescue. Rules: ~You may post once every half hour. ~There is no character limit for your posts. (An intro post is mandatory) ~You can play as many characters as you wish ~You must roll three times (1d10) in bot-spam for your "Rescue Numbers" ~This number is the number you are looking for when you post in Timberholde ~You can roll once every half hour (Label each roll in the channel for what character it is for if you are bringing more than one) ~If you hit your Rescue Number, you have rescued one survivor trapped inside of the city ~Please keep track of your points (Moderators may recount) The three people who rescue the most survivors will be offered the following: ~A home inside of Timberholde (Modest size, after rebuilding) ~An unbreakable item (One of their already owned items becoming unbreakable at staff's discretion) ~A custom role title of "Hero of the Century-2021" ~Their choice of post entered into the hall-of-fame ~Bragging rights for being a bad ass Send The 3 winners and forever heroes of this event: Deffy's Posts Geki's posts Scribe's Posts No Updates Yet Most Recent Update November 18, 2025 Views Back to Top

  • Ale and Assholes | Kingdom of Simul

Library of Shit Events and Holidays Ale and Assholes Ale and Assholes Begins April 29th - May 2nd (Or til someone is announced the winner) The time for Kraghumlin Dimtoe to open the doors of Dun'Lorn for all has come again! Every year, the best of the best come together for insults and ale. Those who want are all welcome to join in a different kind of battle for the season. In the spirit of opening doors and becoming friends, the dwarven people of Dun'Lorn have come up with a great way to share laughs and smiles and even some back slaps. Once inside of the arena, the party of contenders will be presented with a table that holds twenty mugs of the magical ale they refuse to share the recipe for, for each person. Now, we all know the limit is twenty, so this is where things get great! Each person will have a chance to insult the other. Come up with the greatest insults for the laughs, but roll the dice to see if you must drink. Once you reach twenty, you are done. It's how it works. The magical ale knows no bounds and WILL cause your character to pass out after twenty (Or if the bot ends the event, so, whoever has drank the most). However, this is a contest of wits and stamina. If your character can make it to twenty first, they will be declared the victor! Don't worry though, there are dwarves on standby to make sure you get to a nice comfy bed and their tonic to flush their system. Post Setup: 📌Your character's insult to anyone else at the table 📌Roll 1d20 📌If your number is 5 or below, your character(s) does not drink 📌If your number is 6 or above, your character takes a drink 📌No character minimum for posts 📌You can post every hour (Drop in Drop out) The character that wins will have their last insult posted in Hall of Fame and will gain the custom role title of "Ascended Asshole". The winner of the year previous should (optional) make a speech before handing off the crown (The title will be taken from them and put onto the new winner)! The winner will also receive the MUG OF POWER. The mug will fill with the famous Dun'Lorn ale whenever the user chooses. This item is breakable, but soulbound (Meaning the winner is the only one who can cause it to fill). • Dry Gulch | Kingdom of Simul

Library of Shit Town Updates Dry Gulch Dry Gulch Nivalis 10th, 10,016 BREAKING NEWS! (Taken from Simul Quarterly ) "It has come to our attention that there was a recent attack on Dry Gulch! Witnesses say that a group of less than a dozen, but more than eight people descended upon the northern ship port of Dry Gulch and attacked a seaman. Not only was the ship burned to ashes, but the dock in which it was parked. Unfortunately, the owner, Warren Thule, was killed in the incident, alongside his wife and four children. It has also been clarified that this group of murderers did so with the use of fire magic. One witness overheard the spells being spoken by one perpetrator, while the rest were, allegedly, standing around and helping fuel the aforementioned attack. It is not clear if local authorities have caught any of the suspects, but the good people of Dry Gulch have been preparing for a witch hunt....This does not sound good, people of Simul. This does not sound good at all. This is your local News Officiant, Lynn, signing off..." Messis 2, 10,017 Read more in BREAKING NEWS Laughter and merriment could be heard throughout the kingdom as the farmers were once again celebrating another good harvest. Food and drink flowed freely as the unsuspecting people of Simul were watched from the shadows. Hooded figures lurked just outside of anyone's sight, their eyes set on one target; the very food the farmers were celebrating . Not just what they had harvested already, but all of their fields. Every piece of wheat, bean, or ear of corn was doomed. The robed figures kept watch just waiting for the perfect moment to strike. They waited until almost everyone had gone to sleep. Those that remained in the fields or the barns were too drunk to notice anything. Even if they had been sober, they would not be able to stop what was about to happen. Once the robed figures felt it was time to move, they did . Flames roared to life around them to burn every last plant to cinders. Nothing was spared. Nothing. Anything and everything that stood in their way burned with the precious crops. Enough food for dozens of families turned to ash before anyone realized what was going on. The smell of smoke and the sound of roaring flames pulled everyone from their beds. Horror and panic hit everyone who witnessed it. Men, women and children all did what they could to put out the flames...though, their efforts were in vain. The heat from the fires evaporated the water before it could even reach the flames. Screams for water...screams for help. Many could even be heard calling out to the mages they had shunned. Asking... no, begging for help. Those that could have helped cowered behind their locked doors, fearful of what could happen if they rendered aide. Great numbers of magical and non-human beings fled from their homes as registrations became more common, alongside the growing racism against them, leaving the human communities more vulnerable than they had ever dreamed. This was not an isolated incident; farms across the kingdom were burned. Dry Gulch, SkyHaven, Subury, Wingston, Timberholde, Ferax Villum, and even Concordia were hit alongside multiple other villages and farming areas. It was almost the same story at every farm that was burning: Those that could have helped refused. A small few cities managed to save food. Their mages were quick to respond and quell as many of the fires as they could. However, even with their quick actions, much of their food was destroyed. What could be salvaged was inventoried and stored in the safest places people could find. Alongside the massive loss to the winter food supply, hundreds of people and livestock were also slain. The countless lives and resources that were lost in the night left all that witnessed the horrors of it choking on the smoke and ash of their dreams . What witnesses hoped was a sick nightmare was revealed to be anything but. The nightmare was real and no one knew what to do. Cries of sorrow and a strange letter filled the air. The letter was simply written on paper bearing the Guardian's seal; “We of the CONGREGATION will not be silent. If the King won't hear our cries, we will make him. We will starve him out if we have to, along with anyone else who would follow his laws.” The news of all the fires across the kingdom had the streets of Eleutheria humming with hectic whispers or outright blame against magic users. Conspiracy theories about what happened spread like wildfire; The letters from the “CONGREGATION”, and the Guardians had everyone terrified. They were all looking to Ferren for answers. No word came for hours, confirming for the people that what happened was far worse than before. Eventually, Ferren emerged from the castle to stand on the highest balcony of the capitol. His normally charismatic voice was filled with sadness as it echoed through the heart of Simul. Even his appearance suggested he had not slept. His clothes were a rumbled mess and his hair was far from tamed. Redness surrounded his eyes from intense crying. “It is with a heavy heart that I address you all in such a manner. I am sure you have all heard the news by now. Our kingdom…has suffered a tremendous loss. The crops that normally sustain us through the long winter have been destroyed. Burned to a crisp alongside the brave men and women who tried to stop the inferno. Their sacrifice ensured that everyone could gather and defeat our oldest of foes. The cause of the fires is still unknown but we believe it to be a series of horrible accidents. I would love nothing more than to believe that, but with witnesses coming forward, it has been apparent that the attacks were perpetrated by magic users. The best people we have are looking to find the cause of what caused this tragedy…” Ferren's voice cracked as more mist threatened to fall from his eyes, the acting king haphazardly wiped away the tears that never fell as he tried to compose himself. He kept his face hidden for a few minutes in silence before he moved his hands to speak again. “We can move on from this tragedy as one but I need the help of every Simulian. We do not have enough food for the winter. As of today, all food is to be brought here to Eleutheria so it can be rationed out appropriately. All are welcome to come and get your daily meals. Those of you traveling great distances will be allowed to get enough for a few days. Every month, we will be shipping out ration bundles to each city and community to sustain. All magical beings wanting their rations are required to provide their registrations. This is to keep us all safe and uphold peace of mind. We have also decided to place a special barrier around the capitol to help further protect the food we will all need to survive. It kills me to have to do this to you all. Rationing will leave us all hungry as we try our best to make it through these trying times. I encourage everyone to do what they can to provide for their families. If you have extra, please give it to those that need it more than you. Hunters, share your bounties as you get them. Farmers that have lost their crops should reach out to us. We can provide seed to hopefully grow something before the cold seasons hit. We will make it through and come out better for it. May the Gods bless us and help usher us through the trials they felt, we as a people, needed to endure.” "If you have any questions relating to the recent events, any citizen of Simul is welcome to write to me directly. You may also tag Malum Distantia via Simul Social. Please Simul, love thy neighbor as they were your own family. We will succeed." OOC Note: Dry Gulch, as a whole, was very obliged to follow these orders. Send Send Send Send No Updates Yet Most Recent Update None yet Views Back to Top

  • Formido Peak | Kingdom of Simul

Library of Shit Town Updates Formido Peak Formido Peak Since the first humans walked the lands of Simul, they have been there. When the first magically inclined displayed their supernatural abilities, they were there. When the war commenced between good and evil brothers, they were there....waiting. Watching. Judging. Ferren had warned them. In his unquestioned long life, he has been their savior. Their God. Their leader and teacher. The one who convinces them that anything other than a human would perish in the "Coming of the End." And as conflicts arose throughout Simul along time, he had used it to persuade for an even bigger following. This following has grown in numbers, tipping the scales at over two thousand, and thus, has become their own society. Now, where would a society who hates magic users go? Somewhere hidden. Somewhere...shrouded in darkness. They call their home, Formido Peak. Besides the foreboding name, Formido Peak is an enigma. Though the people do not use magic, or so they claim, the mountains themselves seem to block all magical and supernatural abilities. Though anyone can enter, if they have any sort of magic, mental, or like abilities (Things normal humans cannot achieve), they will find themselves just as normal as the next. No one but Ferren knows why this happens, but he has sworn to take his secret to the grave. Send Send Send Send No Updates Yet Most Recent Update None yet Views Back to Top

  • The Map | Kingdom of Simul

Library of Shit Category The Map The Map "Here." The tallest cloaked figure put a swollen finger to the shriveled parchment. Displayed on the paper was a poorly drawn map of Simul, marked to the hilt and singed on the sides. It had seen much use and was obviously important to the group of four. They hovered closely to the rotten stump it had been splayed upon, their dull eyes watching their leader's every movement as he spoke their next plans. "We move come the morning." A few nods were the only answer he received...but the noise coming from footfalls beyond the tree line had him rolling the map up and shoving it into his inner cloak pocket. Send Intro: Your character(s) have happened to hear rumors of the mages that had attacked Korrig Harbor City have been camping about The Ros. Since the location is usually empty with the exception of the desperate, it seems to be the perfect hide out. Whether your character(s) go in alone or with a team, they have one goal. Capture and interrogate. However...it doesn't appear the assailants are willing to give themselves over alive. This will be a fight to the death. How This Plays: 📌This scene will take place in The Ros starting 6/6/2024 at 12 AM MST 📌 Your character(s) will enter the scene. You must write an intro post (No min required) 📌 You can roll 1d20 every 30 minutes, starting with your first roll after intro. (30 minutes must pass before next roll) You must label your roll with which assailant your character(s) will be attacking. 📌 You can write your attack as a post, or you can just roll. No post required. 📌 Each person involved will start with 300 Hit Points. Each roll of the d20 will be points taken from the opposing party's HP pool. This means every hit is a connect. (Please also add your HP total to your note in your roll. An example will be given if you need) 📌 The assailants (4) will roll 1d30 every 30 minutes. 📌If your HP pool hits 0, your character is knocked out. However, when an assailant's HP pool is 0, they are dead. 📌Once all assailants are dead, a mod will provide a post of what happens next and what items are found. 📌The person who deals the most damage (You must keep numbers of how many points of damage your characters do), will receive a new weapon that is listed below. 📌Should a character be knocked into a pool, the rules apply. Found HERE . This can be a very good thing for your character...or bad. Should your character come into contact with the pool and a POSITIVE roll happens, your character will receive up to 25 points back. Should it be NEGATIVE, only the negative affect will apply. Should it be NEUTRAL, your character will gain back up to 10 points. The Assailants: Lennox - Zain Seymour - Nebula Weapon That Can be Found and Attained: 📌This weapon is 8 inches (20 cm) long 📌The blade is breakable, but the handle is not. Should the blade shatter, it will reform itself in 24 hours. While broken, the enchantment does not work. 📌The Enchantment: While the user has a hold of this blade, they can mirror ONE ability that has been used in a combat scenario for three turns. This is also limited to once (Can mimic only one, can use mimicked spell multiple times during the three turns depending on how it is worded on the original profile) per combat scene. This can be done without any drain to their natural abilities. Should the blade be dropped or broken, this ends the enchantment and ability steal. Send UPDATE: Assailants will now be rolling a d20 Send UPDATE Now that Lennox was defeated, it would be clear as day who his 'real' partners in crime were. Standing behind his felled body was one single soul: Nebula. Zain and Seymour had apparently ran off, leaving the woman to stand there in shock and dismay, clutching to his staff with wide yet loathing eyes. The man she loved had been killed right before her boots, and the two who had promised to defend him were now nowhere to be seen. It was all down to her...and she was nowhere near as strong as Lennox. She would either avenge him...or die trying. Readying her staff, she began to cast fire that would envelope them all if given enough time... From here, your characters are fighting at the same pace as before, however, Nebula has far less hit points. 150 to be exact. Whoever deals the most damage (Including the damage done to Lennox) will be the winner of this event. Good luck! • Questionable Items List | Kingdom of Simul

Library of Shit Stuff and Things Questionable Items List Questionable Items List This list is a reference point for the type of technology that is now part of Simul. If something is missing and you have a question, please ask us in the Suggest and Discuss or General Chat! Send Fulmen Spheres: These are what powers a lot of the technology inside of Simul. You can read more about them HERE . They are a 'magical replacement' for things like batteries. Cell Phones: 📌AKA Telegems: Cellular devices are not as you would think of them on a modern sense. Though some were dropped during the Timberholde Event, the people of Simul have not been able to recreate them. "Cell Phones" inside of Simul often look like thick pieces of glass that hold a similar shape of modern phones. They are made of a special type of stone mined in the mountains of Simul called Curatrix and powered by Fulmen Spheres. These pieces of "glass" are enchanted with magic that allows people to communicate with others across long distances. They are used like modern day phones, being held to the face in order to hear. Some of the higher profile communication devices can be held in the hand and will project imagery of the caller on the other end, very closely resembling holograms. This is done with some left over components from computers and tablets and cameras. Unless one is proficient and studied how it is done properly, one couldn't tell you off hand how it works. Most people just know 'it does'. Telegems are capable of a few different 'programs' which are Simul Social, Text Messaging, Photo and Video Recording. Most of these Telegems look like the image below, though it is not uncommon for them to be customized by their carriers. 📌Telegem XL: The Telegem is now even BIGGER than it was before. The camera takes higher resolution pictures and now artificers have added their own “programs” to them. None of it is super fancy; Most just add more storage, better cameras and the ability to write and store messages or notes to it. They include a special “quill” that you can use to hand write everything if you want to. A select few XL’s are made with the ability to swap out memory crystals that they use for storage just in case the original one becomes full. A couple examples have been seen of these Telegems printing out pictures they have just taken. Vehicles (Cars, Trucks, Vans, Semis, Motorcycles) Vehicles that were dropped into Simul during the Timberholde event were heavily damaged. Some of the survivors of the event were able to educate the Citizens of Simul on how they used to work and operate. Since Simul does not have crude oil and gasoline refined enough for these vehicles, most of the surviving vehicles were taken apart and made into something less useful. Expect to see steam and magic powered vehicles throughout the kingdom. These are open for interpretation minus a few things. It is extremely rare to have a vehicle that can travel more than 70 mph. The steam powered vehicles are powered by, you guessed it, steam. With engines made to heat water (Whether magically or mechanically). Magical vehicles tend to have runes or the like that offer power to the wheels. Magical vehicles work like modern day batteries, needing recharging after so long. Vehicles/Vessels (Flying or Ships) Boats are really nothing new to Simul, but boat engines are. Much like the vehicles listed above, they will run on steam or magic or a combination of the two. Aircrafts were not salvageable, and were taken apart after the Timberholde incident to use in the building of other types of vehicles. However, some flying ships were produced from these items. Most flying ships are small, able to hold a crew of no more than 30, though there have been rare occasions of larger flying ships. These are not a product of what dropped into the kingdom, but more of something that has evolved over time. Computers (Laptops and Desktops and Tablets) Electricity is in abundance in Simul as magical doses. However, it is not refined enough to run computers correctly. Even with the survivors of the Timberholde incident explaining to the best of their knowledge on how these items operated before, many of the computers were fried while Simulians tried to perfect their own output in order to make them work. The salvageable computers were swiftly taken apart and used for advancements in other aspects of Simul life, such as, but not limited to, light bulbs, 'Telegems' (as listed above), mechanical parts of vehicles (as listed above), and cameras. Cameras have become quite common among the people of Simul. With the opportunity to take still images and keep them, Simulians jumped on the bandwagon. Many shops frequently owned by alchemists and tinkerers and mages cropped up offering the sale of these small devices. They are often powered by small stone runes that need recharging by some sort of spell or electrical shock to continue to produce pictures. Some of these cameras can also self print the pictures taken onto paper. Other low end versions would require the device to be taken to one of the shops it was procured at in order for the owners and operators to extract and print the pictures for the customer. Home Appliances (Refrigerators, Ovens/Stoves, Microwaves, Vacuums, Carpet Cleaners, Small appliances such as coffee makers, toasters, ect) Most appliances that were left from the fall of Detroit were destroyed and/or rendered useless. With Simul's lack of an electricity system, the items were found to be useless anyway. Most appliances were divided and taken apart in order to use components to power other things such as vehicles, aircrafts and fuel tinkerers' desires. People can easily find small items here and there at various merchants throughout Simul. Most components have no use alone, but could be useful for an inventor type. Some more primitive versions of these types of items have become common. Industrial Machines (CATs, Tractors, Combines, Lathes, anything you can imagine used for farming, industrial, and etc) As with most other types of vehicles, these, though very rare to find in a prison city, were swiftly taken apart and used for other vehicles that Simulians could actually put together and use. One would not be able to find one whole. However, as some smaller appliances, more primitive versions of these have been put together and have become commonly bought and sold. Examples of types of machines allowed: 📌 Drill presses 📌 Saws 📌 Wood lathe 📌 Metal lathe 📌 Sewing Machines If it's a machine that can be run on a simple electric motor and worked by hand, it could be allowed. Additions or player creations may be reviewed by staff. Solar Power Solar Power did not exist inside of Detroit before it fell. Since the realm it was stolen from had turned the major city into a prison city, it had limited luxuries, such as solar power items. Medicine Medicine was also very limited inside of the prison city. Hospital machines were non-existent. No x-rays, MRIs, Cat scans, proper hospital beds...ect. They still had many things that Simul did not have nor think of previously. Below is a list of the types of medicines and items used in medicine that Detroit had that Simul was not privy to, but are now: 📌Tylenol 📌Advil 📌Motrin 📌Aspirin 📌Ibuprofen 📌Ace Wraps 📌Cotton Balls 📌Cotton swabs 📌Morphine 📌Up to 80% Alcohol 📌Latex and Non-Latex gloves 📌IV Bags 📌Iodine 📌Penicillin 📌Oxygen Tanks 📌Oxygen Masks 📌Ketamine 📌Saline 📌Codeine 📌Syringe 📌Hydrogen Peroxide (This list may be updated over time) Music, Music Players (CDs, Records, Tapes) CDs and records were usually the music players of choice as they were much easier to come by in Detroit. Though some had cell phones and tablets and even computers, CDs and Records were often donated to the prison city. A few of these were found in the rubble of the fallen city. Some remnants of record and CD players made it through the Timberholde Incident and still play some music. MP3s were not a thing, as the prison city did not have access to the internet. Not everyone in Simul has the same tastes as those who lived in a more modern world, but one can often come across one of the musical items if they look hard enough and have enough coin to purchase one. Televisions, Movies, Movie Players Despite being a prison, Detroit was often donated various entertainment items, including televisions and movie players. They were never afforded the luxurious kinds, such as flat screens, plasma, or high grade DvDs or Blueray. You could easily locate a tube TV or a Video Tape Player. The items were recovered, and some have found ways to give them the power they need in order to watch these movies and shows through their appropriate devices. Some Simulians have also started to come up with ways to make their own. Especially family videos to keep record or happy times. Over time, actors have become a thing as Simulians gained a love for motion picture entertainment. Firearms First things first: When it comes to "How to Roleplay" with firearms inside of Simul, we have a little write-up to help you. Since Simul is T-1, it can be a little confusing on how to do this appropriately. Structure Example Below: 📌 Post1- Character fires off all rounds out of their gun. Character cannot use the firearm again in this post. 📌 Post 2- Character reloads. This action can be roleplayed out or mentioned. Gun cannot be used in this post either. This also gives players a chance to add more flare to their posts. 📌 Post 3- Characters can fire their round(s) again. Once they run out of ammo, repeat the process. What was once a flintlock only continent, Simul was introduced to more..modern-ish guns. Since Detroit was a prison city, they had limited access to guns, however, some did make it through. Although Simul does not have modern machining techniques, blacksmiths and inventors have succeeded in making their own advancements. The variety and quality of guns varies greatly depending on who made them. Listed below will be a grading scale for firearms as well as examples: 📌 Crude - The majority of these firearms are not the greatest. They function but their bad construction impacts accuracy, along with a variety of other things. They will often break after a couple dozen shots or they may consistently jam. 📌 Quality - These items are better than most and will get someone out of a tight spot. They still have their issues but by and large, they are reliable. 📌 High Quality - Examples of this can be found throughout the kingdom but that high quality comes with a massive price tag. High quality firearms often have superior accuracy and handling compared to their cheaper counterparts. Firearms of this tier are the closest to modern firearms in quality. Beware, some Simulian gunsmiths boast their guns are better. 📌 Custom Firearms - These can vary greatly in build quality due to the nature of these projectile weapons. Tinkerers and inventors of Simul have put their own spin on what the term firearm means. Advancements have been made in this field thanks in part to the new law of the land. 📌Lever action rifles with calibers up to 45-70. These were all single action only. All rifles ammo capacity capped at 15. This is more than normal but, hey, it's a fantasy server. This also includes bolt action rifles and possibly pump action rifles. Bolt action rifles will be capped at ten rounds, pump action rifles would be capped at six rounds. 📌Revolvers with calibers up to 44 magnum. These guns will be capped at 8 rounds for all types of revolvers. 📌All shotguns will be single shot for up to 4 barrels. These were never above 12 gauge. You can have anywhere between 12-20 gauge. Pump action or lever action shotguns capped at 5 rounds, examples of shotguns that are allowed are; The Winchester 1887 lever action shotgun, or the Winchester model 1893. There are more examples of the era but that is the kind of thing allowed. 📌 We already allow revolvers and single shot pistols and firearms of that nature but we are expanding it to include lever action pistols like the volcanic repeating pistols. There could be more examples if a player has a good idea. True semi automatic pistols will never be allowed in Simul. The closest anyone will ever get is a gun that looks like a semi automatic. The weapon will be magazine fed and fired in a similar fashion but it will not eject the round. The person firing the weapon will have to unlock the slide and manually operate it back and forth to chamber the next round. 📌 Magical firearms, crystal firearms, Fulmen Sphere powered weapons, etc: It is hard to determine what should and should not be allowed for these types of ranged weapons. They will be reviewed on a case by case basis. A few things to consider when making weapons like this: 📌 All weapons like this need some kind of cool down period or have a need to reload. 📌 If it shoots a projectile of any kind it will follow the same rules as any other ranged weapon. 📌 Pistols capped at eight rounds, rifles at fifteen, shotguns at five. 📌 Any changes made to these items may need to be resubmitted for approval 📌 Custom ammo -Simul might not be the most technological realm but the people are resourceful. Thanks to a few years of exposure to more modern firearms, they started creating their own custom bullets. A good way to tell who made the gun is the round it fires. (All custom bullets are subject to review) 📌 Air Guns - A lesser known piece of technology brought to Simul is the humble airgun. These weapons are slowly becoming popular with farmers as a cheap way to keep the pest population down. Far more industrious artificers have turned these simple items into weapons of war. One example is an airgun that can hit a target a hundred yards away and still kill the target. The shooter will only get a couple shots before reloading. Another example is an air gun that fires arrows at insane speeds. Recharging can be done magically or manually. The majority of users often use the hand pump that is provided by whoever sold it. 📌Most of the guns found and remade are crude with terrible accuracy at long distances. They are still powerful in their own right (I mean...it is a fucking gun). 📌More to come as we adjust to adding guns that fit with the lore. Unbreakable Items Nope. Everything has to have a limit. Hard limits are not always necessary, unless staff asks for one. Unbreakable items are going to be a no unless earned through an event. Generators Generator technology in Simul is still in its early stages of development and only a select few tinkerers and artificers have figured out how to make it work. These rather expensive pieces of equipment require multiple Fulmen Spheres to run properly. Once installed on a property, generators are powerful enough to run a couple dozen lights and/or small appliances. It can also be used to charge other Fulmen Spheres to run devices. These generators often come equipped with a way to recharge, negating the need to have someone come out and recharge your generator. The recharger cannot be used on other items, just the generator. Not all generators are made the same, and depending on who made it it may have things operate a little differently. Remember folks: Electricity will kill you. Magitech The field of Magitech is a growing one in Simul. With better and more stable power sources, artificers are hard at work creating the unthinkable. They are slamming together magic and technology in an attempt to make the kinds of things people only dream of. Those that are successful often end up creating one of a kind works of art. Several examples can be found scattered throughout the realm. One such artificer even brought a car from Earth back from the dead. Others have succeeded in making rudimentary limbs for injured soldiers. Magitech might sound awesome and it really is. The only downside to this type of skill set for your character is the requirement that all Magitech creations are to be submitted for approval. We wish it didn't have to be this way, however, with Magitch being such a new creation in the realm, we as staff are also learning what is acceptable and balanced. Only the Magitech itself must be put up for approval, so please highlight what it is we are looking for when submitted. The Ever Growing List of "No": These items are items that were NOT found during the Timberholde event. However, survivors of said event have been able to educate Simulians on what these things were and may or may not be made with what Simul land has to offer. Get creative winkwonk : 📌MP3 Players 📌Blue Ray Discs 📌Game Playing Systems 📌Microwaves 📌Nuclear Power (Items and etc) 📌Solar Panels 📌Cleaning Chemicals (Bleach, etc) 📌LEDs 📌Plasma, Smart TVs 📌Lasers 📌Robotic Prosthetics Side Note: These items have become available after the Timberholde Incident .
