Cavum Caps
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#mushroom #fungus #edible #lumenscent #painrelief #powerder #salve
Cavum Caps are fairly small, usually standing no more than three inches tall
at max and weighing around 10 grams. These mushrooms sometimes emit a very faint illumination during warm weather nights. The color emit is usually blue or teal. The tops of Cavum Caps are round with small, random pits. The mature caps tend to have low hanging gills that are teal in color. The majority of the body of these mushrooms range in an odd brown-red color. Cavum Caps are generally located in shaded and moist forested areas in foot diameter, tight groupings.
These mushrooms have many uses including:
📌Can be used freshly picked or dried. Locals tend to dry.
📌Cap and stem can both be used as properties seem to be thorough.
📌Most popular way to be consumed is to crush to dust and combine with an edible oil to use as a salve
📌Generally used for pain relief
📌Loses some potency when cooked or heated
Flamma Fungus
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#mushroom #fungus #heat #fire #edible
This particular fungus seems to be fairly popularly grown in backyard gardens. Found randomly, singularly in shaded forest areas. Its use is rather simple being it produces heat. With a tap of the bulbus like head of the green fungus, and after given nearly 30 seconds, Flamma's glowing head will produce enough heat to spark tinder. These 'plants' will not grow larger than three inches tall and even less wide. Once cut, they become useless, still edible with little nutritional value or flavor.
Luquidium
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#stone #water #illuminate #blue
If you are lucky enough to find of of these stones, often found near or in water bodies, you have found a stone that produces just that: Water. Luquidum is rare, but very easy to spot. Rubbing the smooth and glossy stone will cause it to leak enough water to quench one's thirst and does not seem to run out. Very rarely sold in shops with a price tag to match. Stone will shrink over time until it eventually turns to blue-ish sand and stops producing water.
Lover's Binding
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#stone #gem #love #potion
This purple hued stone is a very popular ore used in many 'love' type potions and rituals. Though it looks very close to many other gems, the black strip embed throughout helps to differentiate. It is said to hold the aura of love and passion, but this is only when crushed and used in other mixtures. Alone, the gem-like stone is inert. Fairly inexpensive at most shops, but easily found buried in fertile soils of meadow type areas.
Mela Pot
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#tree #soft #wood #edible #honey
Most adult Mella Pot trees average a base of 20 feet in diameter and twice that in height. The bark of these trees is comparable to generic stone, but getting through to the middle is most peoples' dream! Once felled, these trees spill their luscious and viscous honey fluid! That's right, watch out bees, you can be outdone! A much safer attained alternative, Simulians tend to get their supply of honey from Mellas. However, MOST 'ethically' harvest from these trees with a tap specially made
to pierce their incredibly hard layer of bark. Their wood is also great for any softer projects, but not so much for structural.
Vita
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#stone #plant #expensive #farm
As dark as the cloudiest night, Vita stones are not only enchanting, but highly sought.
These stones feel, weigh, and even look very similar to Obsidian, but they are much smoother
than their cousins. With a name deriving from the Latin word for "Life", Vita stones
were given their namesake due to their odd power. This power, still questioned to this day,
gives this stone the ability to culture and nourish plant life on its surface. They are
in the medium when it comes to rarity, but still sold in shops for the home-gardener for a
hefty price in bulk.
Clover
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#clover #flower #groundcover
Clovers are a beautiful addition to any garden. Being very small, many nature-minded
people use clover for yard ground coverage instead of manicured grass in order to maintain
a diverse biome. Besides, the four leafed clovers are said to bring good luck! During
warmer weather, clover patches will produce small flowers in various bright colors, adding
to the aesthetic. Clover is also very nutritious for livestock and some like to add this plant
to hot beverages for its nutritional values and aroma.
Fulmen Sphere
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend @Muse
#stone #electricity #battery #fulmen #fulmensphere #common
These stone looking objects are nearly completely magical made. From a stone called a Still Stone, and some electricity, Fulmen Sphere came into existence shortly after the Timerholde Incident. With new technologies being introduced into Simul, the people needed a way to power said tech. So, with some study, it was discovered that Still stones (Pictured in the center) were very susceptible to electricity. Still Stones are also incredibly common. Batteries were just a bit too out of reach, so, between a few brilliant minds, the Fulmen Sphere was created. They come in various sizes between a centimeter and fifteen centimeters in diameter, depending on use. They hold electricity in order to power technology that would otherwise not work. They do need to be recharged after continuous use by your local shop or mage that has the capability of electricity. They can be expensive depending on size, but can be acquired at most general shops. (Mod Note: It is suggested that you submit items that include this ore. It is not necessary, but heavily suggested.)
Astronomer's Eye
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#stone #ore #armor #expensive #dark #astonomy #stars #imbue #rare
Often shaped perfectly spherical, the Astonomer's Eye stone is more of an ore. It is also
exceptionally rare, being found in the darkest depths of few caves on the eastern coast.
Even with its rarity, it is easy to spot given its bright glow. The name is fitting given the
glittery bits that swirl within. The Astronomer's Eye, once acquired, is used mostly in the
manufacturing of 'blessed' metals. The powder gained from grinding down the stone is smelt
into metals or sometimes dusted into man-made gems in order to boost its magical capabilities.
Some of the smaller found stones are used in various jewelry settings and left inert.
Lover's Bench
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#tree #love #expensive #rare #magical #immortal
The lover's bench was named in this way due to the heavy bend in its
trunk that makes it resemble a bench. As a matter of fact, that is what these trees are often
used for; sitting. They are very popular among young lovers, gifted to new homes for
them to use as a perch for viewing their gardens. The tree is not something naturally
occurring and must be bought from certain shops that deal in magical plants. This
certainly comes with a rather large price tag, but those who have these tree types say
every penny spent is worth it. These trees live as long as the last living original owner.
The leaves are as soft as mink and do not shed in the colder season. Unless felled, the
Lover's bench trees are said to be 'immortal'.
S.E.W.
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend @Spook
#plant #poison #weed #edible
Over time, the name of this particular ground dwelling 'plant' has been lost. However,
the 'plant' itself is still very widely known and very much feared. S.E.W. is known for its
extremely toxic 'meat'. It grows under ground with no root system to speak of and no need
for what normally aides a plant in growth. Capping at about a foot in diameter and a weight
of nearly twelves pounds, S.E.W. is quite a large gourd looking object. Touching the outside
of this plant will not harm someone, but once the inside is ingested, it can be fatal. Over the
course of seven days, one will experience agonizing pain that leads to multiple organ failure and
eventual death. Only the most talented of chef's can make this amazingly appetizing gourd into
something edible. Trust your gut on this one. Those who have eaten and lived to tell the tale
describe the flavor as "Life altering".
Humming Stones
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#stone #song #rare #homedecor
A fairly rare phenomenon, Humming Stones are only found in the deep trunks of Tranquillum.
Rumor has it that they were made to accompany the deceased that traveled through
to provide a tranquil trravel to Soulstagne. However, in more recent times, the rumors
have changed and it appears that the stones are naturally occurring. Usually in groupings
of three of four, these stones cannot be separated from one another. They emit exactly
what their name entails; hums. From personal experience, I can only describe the sound
as a haunting melody that urges a sense of calm. You can either ethically harvest them
from the ground or you can purchase them from a specialized shop.
Spirit Wood
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#tree #lightweight #strong #magical #uncommon
Spirit Wood is a type of tree that was manufactured by a mage or wizard many many years ago for the purpose of creating a beautiful environment just outside of Soulstagne. You can find these trees in the wild mostly in Tranquillum, but over time, they have become somewhat common throughout Simul. The wood itself is a very light tan and the bark may or may not have intricate swirls and ridges along it, while the leaves it produces vary in color, which has no meaning behind being beautiful. They also emit small orbs of colored light that dance to the ground where they disperse without incident. This phenomenon continues even after a Spirit Wood tree has been cut down, but to a lesser degree.
Now, the reason is it not super common is that, the moment these tree types mature, they are harvested for the purpose of building. Being three times stronger than iron wood types, Spirit Wood has become very sought after for home and business construction. One can easily find Spirit Wood farms, but be prepared for the hefty price tag that comes with this lumber. Not only is it the strongest wood in Simul, but it has properties that make it easier to imbue with blessings and magic. This has become super useful for those who would like to keep evil or ill-intent from their homes.
Spirit Wood takes approximately 12 years to mature enough to be felled and the lumber to be used.
Sapidus Caps
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#mushroom #saltandpepper #seasings #edible #common
This incredible common mushroom can be found not only in personal gardens, but
with massive ease in the wild. Sapidus Caps are incredibly hearty and can grow in nearly all fertile soil throughout the year. Alongside Salt and Pepper as basic seasonings, the tops of these mushrooms are dried, crushed and placed inside of shakers found in most eateries. Holds a very savory flavor akin to salt and garlic.
Ligo Folium
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#flower #edible #potions #salves
Yet another largely common growth in Simul, Ligo is used mostly as a binding agent in various potions, salves and powders. Grown mostly domestically, Ligo can still often be found in meadow like areas in large patches much like moss or crab grass. Has little to no taste. Usually dried and crushed before use, leaves and flowers together. Flowers come in various colors including purple, blue, yellow, pink, etc.
Silex Stone
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#stone #flint #common #fireaid #weaponmaking #toolmaking
This stone is closely related to flint, but much harder on scale. Can be sharpened more so than Obsidian, but again, much harder to break. The dark blue color and rough edges make this common stone easy to spot even embedded in the soil. Most keep one or more on hand when traveling for the spark it makes when hit against other hard objects (Fire making). Used in many stone tools and even mixed with certain metals for weapons.
Liven Luminary
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#stone #jewelrymaking #light #illumination #glow #glowinthedark
As the definition goes; Liven stones emit light. Much easy to spot at night, these stones create a light akin to candles. Must be kept in natural light to glow for the night, otherwise they have a dim glow. The more light they soak, the brighter and longer they shine. Seems to be a popular stone in jewelry.
Mutanur
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#stone #ooze #melting #decor #common
This green and purple spotted stone is easily spotted, yet, hard to find. Simul's history claims this stone was highly sought for its shifting purposes. Mutantur can 'melt' when introduced to extreme heat (500 F/260 C). Many older buildings were made with this stone, but it was discovered quickly that their lifespan after being subjected to such heat caused the integrity to suffer. They do make beautiful decoration with such unique coloring.
Salt Spire
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#stone #mineral #salt #cheap #common #health
Found near any salt water source, Salt Spires are a hybrid between salt and quartz. Do not be mistaken, Spires can be consumed given enough effort to grind to dust, but contain far more salt content than normal table salt. A dab will do ya. They are also a fairly common ingredient in health potions and are used widely in many spa treatments for skin health. This 'gem' comes at rock bottom pricing in most general stores, shops and vendors for those who would rather just buy.
Mollis
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#tree #rubber #softwood #common
A strange type of tree, Mollis also produces a very soft type of wood. Generally they are looked upon as a common weed wood, given most parts of this tree are not useful other than firewood. The tree itself can withstand heavy winds and even a good battering given it has the texture and innards similar to rubber. Even the leaves are quite thick and soft. They are a pretty common tree in the northern parts of Simul, but VERY common in Yearning Mire.
Weeping Frost
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#tree #weeping #willow #ice #brittle #wintergrown
The Weeping Frost has gained its name due to its incredibly cold temperature. That is not its only unique feature. This tree is rumored to be made purely of ice, though it can be cut down and produces actual wood. The leaves are brittle, breaking with any warm touch. Weeping Frost trees only grow in the colder months. It can grow from a seedling into a full tree of fifteen feet in less than four months. However, once the temp outside reaches spring, they melt into nothingness like ice.
Fire Gem
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#gem #fire #magical #uncommon
Often found in mountainous caves, the fire gem stone is one of the more rare gems in Simul.
It's name signifies its supernatural ability to produce heat, and once cut and shaped, can also
create flame given a spoken command. Its beauty often draws jewelers to cut and set these gems
in pendants, lockets, rings and the like despite its power. This gem does give off radiant heat, but not
enough to mar flesh unless commanded to. A unique feature is that the stone will only listen to
one voice, and that voice must come from the flesh touching its surface.
Pothos
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#common #vine #pothos
With thick, waxy, bright colored leaves, the Pothos vines are a very hearty plant type. Most
people tend to purchase these for indoor decor and air quality. They are a non-expensive
alternative to a lot of other vine types, which makes them an incredibly popular choice for nature-
minded home decorators. Easy to clip and gift with simple water, these vines do not need soil
in order to flourish. Pothos have been spotted in areas surrounding Gao Shan in the wild,
but most opt to purchase from local greeneries.

Rose Quartz
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#crystal #gem #common #quartz
Rose quartz is one of the many quartz varieties used as a gem material. It gets its name from its delicate pink color, which ranges from very light (almost white) to medium-dark. The most appealing color typically occurs in larger sizes, and small rose quartz specimens with good color tend to be rare. Fairly commonly found in deep forest and cave biomes, and come with a very small price tag at your local shop. It is said these stones aid in love and self-healing.
Verto Glass
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#glass #gem #weapon #armor #strong #uncommon
Often mined from underwater caves, Verto Glass is a highly sought type of 'stone'
for armor and weapon crafting. It comes with a costly price tag, but for good reason. Its structure
is as strong as diamonds, and it malleability is like clay before being heated and
set. The reason it is such a popular ingredient in armor and weapon crafting is due to its hardness
and availability. Much like Curatrix, Verto Glass is sturdy, but once set, becomes even more so.
Stella Stone
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend @Muse
#stone #jewelry #common
Very beautiful and highly sought after, the Stella Stone is a key piece
in many decorative and jewelry makers kits. This stone is easily found by way of its
magnificent illumination. Beaches and moist dense forests are great places to find this stone.

Vomitore
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#gross #ooze #stone #common #farming #fertilizer #inexpensive
Vomitore is an incredible commonly found boulder in the meadow lands that are
throughout Simul. Taking the appearance of common stone, Vomitore usually has
a large crack somewhere on its surface that produces a sickly green or brown looking ooze.
This ooze is a naturally occurring fertilizer, and where these boulders lay, one can easily
observe the difference in soil. Very popular among farmers and very inexpensive to purchase
instead of finding.
Black Tourmaline
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#tourmaline #common #witchcraft
Schorl, more commonly known as black tourmaline is one of the most coveted stones
for protection and cleansing. It’s commonly used in rituals, grids, meditations,
shrines and a variety of applications.
Its ability to soak up, repel and banish negative energy is second to none
in the healing crystal space. Can be found in abundance by mining the northern mountains and
oceanic areas of Simul. Shaped pieces can fetch a hefty sum though in jewelry and other shops.
Tiger Lily
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#common #flower #smelly
A fairly popular lily type of flower that is extremely commonly found in the north-eastern
region of Simul. They are a very hearty plant, easy to grow in most conditions, but fairly
targeted by garden pests like slugs and snails. Grows in large groups in the wild during
warmer months.
Sunflower
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#common #flower #edibile
A very malleable flower, the Sunflower can be used in one of the most wide arrays of ways.
From cleaning your air to garnishing your cold dishes, Sunflower is an amazing plant. Not
only are they extremely common and cheap to purchase (Grown or seed), Sunflower is
beautiful. Growing at heights up to 8 ft (2.4 m), it makes a fantastic and easy to grow
crop even for the lesser knowledgeable farmer.
Clarico
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#stone #metal #ore #rare #expensive #weapon #armor
Clarico stones are on the list of "Top Rare Stones" within Simul. They can and have been found
naturally occurring within the molten areas of Dun'Lorn, but due to their abundance of a
palpable magical aura, the dwarves often re-bury or toss this valuable stones to the lava due to
long written and remembered paranoia. Given their rarity and hidden nature, should one come
across one of these stones for sale, be prepared for a massive price tag. Rumored sizes range from
pebbles to a heft diameter of 1.5 feet. The smooth and chromatic surface is aesthetically pleasing,
but what makes these stones so valuable is their amazing imbuing capabilities and malleability
Not only can they hold a continuous magical source, they are almost impossible to break. This
stone also attaches itself to its "Master", taking the shape of what they are thinking at any
given time. Unfortunately, stones cannot be combined as they are adverse to one another. (Mod Note: Anything made with this particular material must be approved by staff before use in roleplay)
Curatrix
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#gem #uncommon #expensive #magitech #pricey
Known as "The King's Glass", Curatrix is a gem that is often harvested from the
deepest parts of the tallest mountains found in Simul. Since its discovery, Curatrix has
been mostly used as glass and windows for the wealthy. The thinner this gem is carved, the
less color it retains, but the strength hardly depletes. Recently, paired with Fulmen
Spheres, this gem has become the primary material for creating Telegems and other screen-
like items. Once a rarity in shops, Curatrix has been mined far more in the recent years
in order to create the new technology introduced into Simul. This has also caused a price drop.
The strength of this gem is akin to rubies or sapphires.
Trux
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#dangerous #disease #gem #stone #poison #fatal #siren
If you happen to come across this particular gem, leave the area immediately. Trux is a very
dangerous, naturally occurring gem like stone that has the ability similar to a siren's song.
Any sentient beings in it's area that can 'hear' this gem will be willed to consume it. Once
consumed, the being will begin a long transformation of being encrusted in the same substance
the gem is made of. This process has no cure, but there is a couple of treatments available. One
being a potion that needs to be taken once a day, every day, for the dureation of life. The other
option is to have the rock drilled off once it becomes problematic. This is also a process you will
have to endure every so often, as again, there is no cure.
Simul Stone
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#stone #gem #potions #healing #common #inexpensive #simul
Simul Stone is named after our kingdom for good reason. This stone, which can be found
just about everywhere, including shops for a good price, is the base for 99% of potions, salves
and other consumables/toiletries. Simul Stone is INCREDIBLY binding, making it the
prime ingredient to mixing things and having them come together without much issue. You
must grind this oddly soft stone into a powder before use. Non-toxic and flavorless, it is also
amazingly easy to work with.
Adds a really nice sheen and sparkle to anything it is added to.
Honey Caps
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend

Can be mixed with water and injected/injected, or added to food or baked into a tablet. Side effects include but are not limited to: Loss in motor function, essential tremors of the hands or neck, facial paralysis, temporary loss of magical abilities, loss in appetite or gain in weight. (Please consult your local apothecary if you experience yellowing of the scales, nails, claws, spines, or other keratin based body parts as this may be a symptom of a more extreme adverse reaction. ) Not to be used while drinking or operating magic or rituals of any kind.
These mushrooms are also a bit rare, growing only in the darkest of forests and harvest rather quickly due to demand.
*Can only be prescribed by your local healer/hospital/Primary Care Physician or found in Vex-Mora : Corrosive Concoctions
Lunaris' Smoke
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
An herb, hailing from the rough area around the Aldermans, now only grown in private establishments. The herb itself can be eaten, made into tea, and the oils can be extracted. These ways of usage won't have any effect apart from an odd sensation when eaten. The taste in tea form is mildly spicy and strongly refreshing, clearing the nose like mint. The specialty comes from smoking it. Once Lunaris' Smoke is inhaled, either through a pipe, a cigar or an incense, it will cause the user to feel heightened blood circulation, their pupils dilate and their mind literally expands as all body functions apart from the essential ones (Breathing, Heartbeat, ...) get turned off, letting the body put all its focus into the head. This means the user should use when they are in a safe environment and can be in a laying position for the next three hours at minimum. In small doses, it causes minor relaxation and dizziness, but higher concentrations lead to physical blackouts of up to a day.
*Can only be found in the following locations:
Vex-Mora : Corrosive Concoctions
'Lady of the Night' establishments
Gao Shan : Tonic
Drugs: Ingredient: Wyrmwood
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend

Marijuana
Submitted by @Silver Drafaylum
This particular plant is not native to Simul, but was introduced in the year 10,010 by a poor soul who had been thrown into the realm, known as Silver Drafaylum. Not many people know the plant's arrival history, but the herb has been changed hands and farmed since the first year it landed. This plant contains a drug that, when ingested/smoked will cause extreme relaxation and in some cases, euphoria. It can be addictive as it is mind altering. The price tag is low. Most people can find this herb in various shops from general stores to novelty shops. Can be used in many different mediums including dried for smoking, extracted for edible goods, and even the crystals can be scraped to be used in salves. Downside is that, when lit, has a horrendous odor.
Inferlite & Glacium
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#gem #crystal #imbue #magic Deep beneath the tranquil waters of Lake Magus Unda in Simul, the common crystals named Inferlite and Glacium forms over centuries, infused with the latent magic that permeates the region. These crystals are known for their vivid red and blue hues, each color pulsating faintly with the energy they absorb from their surroundings. Inferlite is attached to the reds while Glacium is the name of the blues. However, there are some natural occurrences of a mixture.
The red crystals shimmer like embers beneath the water's surface, their fiery color hinting at their affinity for destructive or combative forms of magic. In contrast, the blue crystals glow with a serene, calming light, often associated with healing, protection, or water-based magic.
Standing several feet in length, these crystals are incredibly durable but surprisingly easy to manipulate by skilled magic users. Once extracted, they serve as potent magical conduits, capable of storing vast amounts of energy, amplifying spells, or acting as key components in magical artifacts. Though common, and fairly inexpensive to purchase without imbuements, the price does increase heavily for any that have soaked in magical energy.
Luma Vineberries
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#vine #edible #common #rare #expensive #inexpensive #berry #berries
Luma berries are rather unique. Though the vines themselves are common, the two different types of fruits have their own scale of rarity. The round, green berries are common. One can easily find them in most markets and come from various farms in the cooler parts of Simul. However, the star shaped berries are rare. For every thousand Round Lumas, there will be one Star Luma and these can come in two different colors; green and yellow. These hold the same fruity taste comparable to a mix between strawberries and kiwis, though, they are MUCH sweeter. It is also said that the Star Lumas give the consumer a feeling of weightlessness; such as feeling that their body is lighter and somewhat pain free. Many high end eateries combine these star shaped fruits into their desserts. Luma Vineberries grow in somewhat cool environments, so farms that have them are mostly found in forested areas. They have a hard time growing in too much heat, but cannot grow in the winter months. A good Luma farmer can harvest the vines twice per year and must replant as the vines do not return.
Mistral Melon
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#melon #edible #common #fruit
This melon is a common fruit within Simul. The skin of this melon is a mesh of dark green and blues alongside lighter blues and yellows. The most coveted being the ones with repeating patterns. The fleshy part can be a mixture of yellows and blues speckled with a splash of blue colored seeds. Mistrals can grow up to a size of 20 pounds (9 kg) at the matured age of 90 days. The taste of the flesh is described as extremely sweet with undertones of agave. Usually one batch per year for most farmers of this melon, the plants/vines yield in very high numbers. The fruit itself keeps for much longer than most, and can also be frozen and thawed very easily.
Ironleaf Cabbage
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#cabbage #greens #edible #common #inexpensive
Ironleaf Cabbage is incredibly common in Simul. Most farmers and even newbie garner's can grow this plant with ease. Originally designed by a farming wizard hundreds of years back, Ironleaf was a solution to a brief drought. This cabbage, when growing, requires little water or sunlight or even heat. It can be harvested within two weeks of planting due to its incredibly fast growth rate. The leaves are as hard as steel until plucked from the ground, whereas the entirety of the plant softens for consumption. Becomes softer with cooking or boiling. Keeps far longer than traditional cabbage; upwards of four months.
Shadowbean
Submitted by @Lyanna Legend
#coffee #bean #edible #drink #common #vine
Shadowbean is a common, black coffee bean that grows in dark, shaded forests or caves where sunlight barely reaches. The plant is vine-like, its tendrils creeping along the forest floor or weaving through cracks in cave walls. The beans themselves are small, round, and matte black, blending seamlessly with their surroundings. They are known to grow near pools of still water or in areas where shadows seem unnaturally thick, thriving in places touched by darkness in the wild.
When brewed, Shadowbean coffee creates an inky black drink with a subtle smoky flavor, even without needing to be roasted. Drinking it grants heightened perception in low light and increases one’s reflexes, making it a favorite among nocturnal creatures, thieves, and night guards. It also has a calming effect, helping the drinker stay alert and focused without jitteriness. One can either brew into a coffee drink or eat raw.
Shadowbean plants are considered difficult to cultivate, as they require complete darkness or constant shade to thrive. Farmers who specialize in Shadowbean crops create artificial environments or cultivate them in underground gardens lit only by bioluminescent fungi. Harvesting Shadowbeans is considered a delicate process, as too much exposure to light can cause the beans to lose their potency.
Shriekkins
Submitted by @Spook and written by @Lyanna Legend
These guardian gourds are, at surface level, just regular pie pumpkins. They can be plucked from the vine and used in various sweet pumpkin treats. Though they wear 'faces', Shriekkins are not sentient, so no need to feel bad for eating them! Originally designed by a farming mage generations ago, Shriekkins were made to repel birds and would be thieves. They are said to be able to sense when there are vibrations near, and when that happens, their 'eyes' and 'mouths' open. This directly proceeds the subsequent wailing the fruit emits to warn everyone and everything around it. Much like an alarm, the sounds the Skriekkins propel is loud, screeching, and offensive. Unfortunately for farmers of said crop, they also cannot tell the difference between friend and foe, so harvesting these pumpkins requires heavy ear protection. Shriekkins grow and form like any other pie pumpkin and are very common in the market. Most farmers now a days plant them sparingly throughout their crops to ward off birds and vermin.

An odd blue metal harboring a galaxy-like pattern in its internal structure that is extremely difficult to work with and is the source of many all-nighters done by legendary blacksmiths just to get it into the desired shape. However, when worked into a proper frame and/or shape - its ability to retain its set position and edge/alignment is second to none: Outclassing even the most well-forged Simulian Alloy Blades or bows, even if forged in a poor manner. Due to its rarity, due to how it makes its way into the kingdom, it is more often than not reserved for Royalty. It is also the material used in most of the items/weapons/etc that the kingdom offers during events and festivals.
Mining this material is also not for the faint of heart either - requiring the use of magic as the materials citizens of Simul have access to are insufficient enough to break through the exceptionally tough outer layer of - not only the meteorites - but the metal itself. The sky is watched in anticipation during very well documented times as to retrieve the metal. This is done by a handful of few master mages that have been hired by Simul itself in order to keep the material out of the hands of the general public, and this is why one cannot simply walk into a shop and purchase it. Top of the line magisters or arch-mages often oversee and conduct mining operations when a meteorite has been confirmed to have Obex inside of it.
It is also capable of mixing and matching with nearly ALL types of metals that are found inside Simuls crust and the alloys its people have made, causing the entire item to become invincible. Obex is a strange, yet amazing, material that, in the hands of the few, has become highly sought after. The only way to do this is to win.
OOC Note: Obex is the material that the unbreakable items won in certain events are made out of. Your character cannot have this material unless they win an event and/or are gifted an item made of it. Items that are made cannot be remade into other things. More info will be added should the need arise.
#mola #alloy #shiny
Material Type- Mola, Alloy
Appearance- Bluish in color, and ingots have been known to “sparkle in the light”
How it's made- That is a secret known only to those with the skill to create it. All anyone knows is smiths that make this material need a special furnace. One that burns hotter and longer.
How did it get to Simul- Bright steel was brought to simul by blacksmiths visiting from other realms.
Uses- This material is perfect for making swords, and other melee weapons. It has been used for making car parts in recent years. That is due to being five times stronger than steel, and how easy it is to repair despite its durability.
Special Quirks- Bright Steel has a couple strange quirks. It will often take on random effects based on its user. These effects often correspond to the user's profession, chefs that use this will have perfectly sharp knives that never need washing. Dragon slayers will cause more bleed damage to an enemy. A max of two random effects can be taken on by this material. ( depending on the effect it may require OOC permissions)
Any edged weapon made with this material never needs to be sharpened. No matter what happens to the sword it will stay razor sharp. Its final quirk is looking brand new forever no matter the abuse. It also takes enchantments well.
History- The history of this material in Simul is rather short. It was brought to Simul by the snow elves, and dwarves from another realm. They gifted the knowledge to the smiths of Simul to keep it alive. The creation of Bright Steel was dying, few smiths knew it and they were dying.
Material Type- Mola, Alloy
Appearance- Mithril is often a brilliant white, or a shiny gray. It is often inscribed with runes that help in the creation of this material
How its made- this material is made from a mix of different materials, and a lot of magic. It takes blacksmiths up to a week to create this incredibly durable metal.
How did it get to Simul- It has always existed in Simul, Once it was created the knowledge spread quickly.
Uses- Mithril can be used for anything. It is a popular metal for weapons and armor. Although with technological advancements in Simul that has changed. Now people can have parts for their cars made out of it, or even a mithril case for a Telegem.
Special Quirks- Mithril is near indestructible. It can take immense damage before breaking. Armor made from this has been known to take hits from a dragon.
History- The real history of the material is unknown, all anyone remembers is how to make it. Rumor has it the knowledge was passed down from some advanced species. No one really believes it though. All anyone cares about is how versatile a material mithril is. Items made with this mythical material are often quite expensive.
Material Type -Mola, naturally occuring
Appearance- Adamantine looks a lot like regular steel. Except it does not rust.
How its made- Adamantine is a naturally occurring ore in Simul. Although tough to mine it is commonly used for tools.
How did it get to Simul- The gods put it there
Uses- commonly used in the creation of high end hand tools. The rise of technology has seen it being used to make rudimentary machining equipment, or even farm equipment.
Special Quirks- the only thing special about this material is it does not rust. Other than that is it just incredibly durable, about five times stronger than steel.
History- Blacksmiths of Simul have been mining this material for millenia. It is rather abundant and easy to work with. Once formed into something it will not break easily.
Material Type- Mola, Alloy
Appearance- Often seen rusty and pitted. This poor excuse for steel is often the only thing farmers can afford
How its made- this material is literally made with whatever metal is available. It is melted into ingots and roughly forged into shape.
How did it get to Simul- Farmers of Simul have been making it for centuries. It is cheaper than normal steel
Uses- Anything that requires metal. Most farmers use it for tools, or to make crude knives. A few have even made passable pots and pans out of it.
Special Quirks- There is nothing about this material that is special. Farmer’s steel is junk and should not be used for cooking.
History- this poor excuse for steel was created by farmers that lost their harvests. They gathered up all the scrap metal they had to melt it.
